- This video shows how to replace the EGR valve in a 2005 Lincoln LS 3.9L. Since it sits right up on the top near the front of the car, it is not too hard to replace and should be able to be replaced by someone with a minimal amount of mechanical skills. I tried to clean out the valve but it kept triggering the check engine light so now it is time for a replacement. It cost about $95 for the new valve after tax.
Excellent straightforward presentation. Thank you.
Love yhe people that do make vids on these cars, I thought Id have to go to mechanic for that and probably still will ask my neighbour nrchanic to help me out. Anyway thanks
thanks for this video. Gonna do this tonight on my '05 3.9L Ls tonight. Without this video, I might have paid 4X for someone else to do it.
Thanks for the video. Just changed mine I was getting a P0108 code. Had it all set but when I was tightening the nut it felt like it was crossthreading so I took it all apart. Which of course I dropped the gasket and fished for half an hour to get back. Then one of the bolts seemed to crossthread too. Putting it all back togteher and the nut felt the same. Wasted a good hour and was right back to where I was. Just bullied everything tight and it seems fine.
Dave wat was your car doing
Did it start and run just fine after that? I’m dealing with that right now
@@Foxsin4x2x0 I can't remember what the issue even was. It might have been just to pass my emission test. I can't remember if there was a drivability problem. Getting that nut on the pipe started was HARD, and so was getting it all in place with that gasket. I got rid of the car a few months later for a '16 SHO Good luck.
@@daveslomski9612 sounds easy enough for anyone once they know the part and location thank you for getting back to me 👍 for sho and yeah there a driving issue with acceleration and foot pedal pressure rough like a clog sometimes u can feel it when u push for gas I’ve been dealing with it for some time before the light it wasn’t as notable then I couldn’t pin point what it was cause I just got it and had done a fresh tune up on but the light came on and then it been getting aggressive with it even had a no start one time it wasn’t cold out either even though it was night then I just tapped the gas like not even a quarter inch and it came to life lol
Hey did you have a p0108 map sensor/vacuum code before you repaired it?
Thank you so much
thank you for this video. it was very helpful
any advice on how to prevent the cross threading??? plus when i was unscrewing the bolt from cross threading it fell in the part where your gasket fell. trying to get it out i pushed it deeper in the back to now i can't reach it and get it out.. this won't cause a big issue would it? or should i try to get it out. i have a spare bolt from my old egr valve i can use but. the bolt that dropped i dont want it damaging anything thats why im asking is it a big deal to try and get it out?
Hi i have a 2000 lincoln ls can u tell me if i have to remove the intake manifold to replace the dpfe hoses the 2 connected to the sensor and where i can find a diagram
My ls v8 smokes alot if i floor it. What could be the problem?
where's the egr pressure sensor ? I the code p0402 and it says egr valve stuck open ,failed egg valve or failed egg pressure sensor .
You guys just saves me $300
Good!
which way does the gasket go? does the dimple point to the driver or passenger side? Thanks.
MaRKus MasH Are you referring to the circle part that bumps out? I put it away from the EGR valve.
Has it been particularly difficult to find parts for your Lincoln LS? Is there a noticeable price difference between parts for it and parts for a more popular car?
This is the price you pay for owning a real car.
Do you have a video on replacing the after catalytic converter 02 sensor on 2004 Ford T-Bird or Lincoln LS? Bank 2 Sensor 2. Or a diagram showing its location? Thanks FDF
Sorry, I don't.
Does the exhaust thing need to be tightened up against the egr all the way
I don't know for sure. I tried to pay attention to how tight it was before I pulled it off so I knew how hard to re-tighten it when I put it back on.
good shit
is this a fix for a p0406 dtc?
Did you fix that?
Did you have a p0401 and a p0108 code?
I do currently did you fix it?
I honestly don’t remember that was a while ago. I started having transmission issues shortly after and ended up just getting rid of the car
@@slimothy88 ah okay well thanks for gets back to me I acquired one of these this year in a good condition at 141k miles 2005 v8 3.9l model but thank you anyway
