    Taking notes for myself !
    - find what makes you unique : it can be your look, or your dance style BUT
    - be well rounded and be able to take on multiple looks/styles to embody different visions
    - find your way of learning and don't compare yourself to others; no one can be you so you have to push that advantage
    - have an amazing headshot and resume ; one page max ; all the important things ; neat and clean with everything in the right place etc. ; have the agent logo on the resume and have a nice pic of you
    - what's for you is for you ! Don't take it personally

    I grew up dancing, and I love it! Recently I haven’t been knowing what I wanted to do in life as a career, but I haven’t been stressing over it because I know I was being lead to the answer and I believe last night I found it.
    A couple of days ago I got my new apple headphones and I was blasting my music while freestyling in my room, and it felt amazing cause I was free and expressing myself, and when I tuned into myself and realized how I was moving I was shook! I am so good! Hitting every beat and just overall confident!
    So just last night a guy at my consciousness group was telling us how it is making it as a dancer, the hours, the commitment, the consistency and everything resonated. I knew that I wouldn’t mind the hours of dancing, because I grew up doing it and around competition time, things got CRAZY! Like crazy hours, committing, consistency all of that is what I wanted to do. I want my time and energy to go towards dancing, it was my passion as a kid-high school.
    I remember being asked a question a week ago, “What is the thing you can do for free but makes you happy?” Or something beyond the lines of that, and I didn’t have an answer for a while, until last night.
    I have a vision of me dancing my soul out on a big stage with white lights in my face for a celebrity. I don’t care how much it pays, I’m happy.
    So I believe this is what I want to do.

      Sayeta Zonen this is so inspiring to read! Freestyling is one of the most greatest experiences. Having the music blast in your ears as you said is indescribable, it’s like you go into this zone where you just get to express and be free. I’m training as well as a dancer and it’s so nice to see others enjoying and loving dance ❤️ it’s like life isn’t complete without dance 💛 Hold onto the vision, sending the best to you in your dance journey! Have fun training 😊

    I’m 14 and my dream is to be a backup dancer but my school doesn’t have any dance classes. I really wish they did because I would join in a heartbeat. I have this schedule where I learn a new choreography of random genres each week. It really helped me improve in my dancing. How do you find auditions if you're not signed to a company? How do you get on with a company?

    • @ahsiajanae
      @ahsiajanae  4 года назад +112

      TeLLiey* Reneé having connections in the dance community and entertainment industry is the best way to navigate getting booked without being signed to an agent. So go to dance classes, dance events, and entertainment industry events, and network with likeminded individuals. Put yourself around people you’d like to work with and do your best at all times so they can see that you are professional and talented even without an agent. The best way to find out how to get signed, is to do your research on what agency you’d like to sign to, reach out and find out their audition or new talent process. Be persistent, do your best, and continue to work on your craft until the day comes where you are signed. When that day comes READ YOUR CONTRACT CAREFULLY ✨✨✨

I wish I would’ve done it sooner in life but I gave up on myself after a year of hearing no at literally every audition. Hopefully one day I’ll finally get a yes. itsDiva it’s not everyone’s strong suit. trust me, I understand! If it helps, try to have a “choreographed freestyle” planned out that you can pull out that can go with any genre on music. That may help you be more comfy. No one has to know that you’ve put it together but you 😉🤫 and I look forward to working with you !!

    • @ahsiajanae
      @ahsiajanae  5 лет назад +18

      Leprakotic hey! Great question. We all have a fear of embarrassment when we mess up and it can be crippling if you let it stop u from trying. The best remedy for that fear is to MESS UP! Get it out of the way, and realize that it’s not going to hurt you, harm you, or kill you if you mess up. I literally was booked on a major gig two days ago and I was forgetting all the steps to the point that the choreographer called me out in front of everyone and told me to “keep up” 😱 I was definitely embarrassed.. my heart sank to the bottom of my stomach. But instead of shutting down, I pushed harder. After rehearsal, I had a day in between before our shoot day and I went in and practiced my butt off. I used the fuel from being called out.. to push myself to be the best when I got back on set. When I arrived for shoot day, I was confident because I was prepared. I didn’t let that shut me down. I pushed harder. Retaining choreography has been a major weakness for me my entire career but my strength is in my performance. (Know what your strengths are) When I’ve got it, I perform like a star! Don’t fear the embarrassment from messing up. Mess up and learn from your mistakes. Be humble, practice, and show your strengths with pride when u feel comfortable and confident. ❤️

    I know you uploaded this video 4 years ago but still hope you’ll read my comment, cause I have a question wich is really important to me.
    I started dance classes a bit more than a year ago. Iam 17 now and I love dancing so much , but Iam scared that it might be to late for me to reach the skill of a professional.
    I have classes two times a week, but I train every day.
    I will do my best to reach my goal and I believe in myself, but don’t want to sound disrespectful to great dancers who already danced way younger than me and practiced for years.
    So I want to ask when did you started dancing?
    Is it possible for me to dance professional?
    ( also asking the comment section :) )
    Thanks to everyone for reading and hopefully answering my comment.

    thank you so much for this! so informative, motivating and helpful, i'll definitely put your tips into practice. my dream is to be a professional dancer, and it's something i'm so passionate about. i live in a small island where there's no a lot of opportunities, and a lot of people have told me to go for an academic route instead, because it's difficult to get into this industry. i have no doubt about what i want to do, and it's dance. i was struggling as to how to get started to kickstart my career and this video really helped me realise it is possible!

      Mirinda Glace these younger kids are starting very young. And they are amazing and will grow up to be amazing. But don’t let that stop your shine! There is room for you! You have something that the next person doesn’t have so trust in that and show the world what you’ve got 💫💫💫
