Japan's boxing hall of fame, Korakuen Hall, is located in Suidobashi, Tokyo. Korakuen Amusement Park is located next to the hall. That is true. Ippo had a date with Kumi at the park, and on the way back he saw the hall that he usually calls his home... That is one of the moments when he got the ‘sense of losing’ that the Chief pointed out. His reflections will continue a little longer... Thank you from a fan of Hajime no Ippo in Japan.
I think it's a hard decision to throw in the towel on your fighter if they still have fight left in him. It's a championship opportunity. You know the work that's been put into getting there and there is no guarantee for another opportunity. He probably should have thrown the towel earlier, but I can see why he didn't. Ippo has a history of comeback wins, so it's always in the back of your mind that he could turn the tables. As for which fighter was tougher between Sendo and Vorg, I'll say that Vorg walked out of the ring and was never knocked unconcious like Sendo was. Vorg also made Ippo an inpatient at a hospital, to the point where he didn't even know how long he had been there. I think objectively it's the fight that has given him the most damage to date, even more so than the fight with Date, which is another reason why I think Coach didn't throw in the towel. Ippo's been in worst situations.
Yeah ,even I think Vorg should have won that fight . The Sendo one looked "better" because it was a "brawl" and mano e mano type of fight which is always more entertaining but Vorg was winning most of it ,Ippo had to go over and beyond no wonder he got sent to the hospital, the last hit was gonna put him out but Ippo got a bit lucky and sliped not really intentional. I'm not sure if it was mentioned after , that he would have lost that fight. Also after watching hajime no ippo after some time , the coach is pretty bad considering how fresh Ippo was into boxing and how much faster he was pulling ahead , it was a matter of time until something would happen to him , given the fact that he was going after all the major fighters in Japan , you dont just get THOSE fights and so many , so close to eachother, I'm surprised he didnt end up dead(its anime afterall) but he'd definitely get early signs of CTE even if he is that fresh. It doesnt matter whatever the coach's feelings or his boxers , he should have had more recovering periods , its not like boxers would suddenly disappear if he waited a bit more, also coach didnt teach Ippo to be a smarter boxer by baiting his opponents to recover ,instead he always goes balls to walls and always going forward . If he'd be a bit smarter he'd rival Ricardo in no time The manga hints CTE later but normally he should be dead but its fiction yeah
I hadn’t even realized until Miyata said it, but the first loss stinging the worst and coming back from it better really applied to that fight! This will be the first time Ippo’s lost while Date has lost before, so he knows how it feels. More emphasis into why Date’s fists were heavier.
I like that the show portrayed a realistic emotional curve instead of him getting over it right away

That is awesome how's Japan
The Art of losing. The will to winning is everything and more worth than the win.

Kumi should consider becoming a boxer the way she handles her brother.
Mashiba trying his best to mess up his younger sister's date. The noble duty of every realistic elder brother.
lmao, "realistic"
It was really good to see how he went from acting like he was fine to finally realizing how bad the loss actually was

Gotta rock with my boy Sendo. Ippo beat both him and Volg, but if i remember correctly, Ippo said he didn't feel like he beat Sendo.
