I have seen hundreds of tool making videos and I have to say yours' is in the top five of the most incredible I have seen! The thing that makes it the most impressive, is the fact that there is no welding involved. This makes this project "doable" by any competent wood or metal worker. I am going to your website right after I finish this comment and get the plans for how to build your vise. I am completely in awe at what you have accomplished. Thank you.

The thing that I love most about this video is that you start off by showing what the finished product looks like. I hate it when I get three-quarters of the way through a DIY only to find out that the finished project didn't fit my needs.

Good choice of background music. Great camera work. Very concise, flawless presentation. So excited I can finally build that vise I would have had to pay $200 for. All I need to do now is purchase an upright press, a tap and countersink, an angle grinder, and the metal to make the vise. I suppose this actually just points out how woefully lacking my tools are. It was a great video. You should ask for pictures from those who built a vise of their own from your video.

Nice lightweight vise. Good skills, good video. For a strong vise, use much heavier plate, sq. tubing, and lead screw. Don't drill holes through lead screw or other bolts like at 11:54 . Hatching is not needed on jaws, it's a gimmick unless the jaws are heat treated very hard.

This would be an excellent template for someone who needed to make a custom vice, the dimensions could be altered to suit anything, plus different sets of jaws could be added later. On a larger scale it could make a great power press for bearing/bush work.... Most vices seem to be made from cast iron which I think is more brittle but of greater tensile strength than plain steel (anyone?) So this type of vice would bend before it cracked when pushed beyond the limit - cast iron can crack if heated and cooled too quickly, mild steel would not so there is another property to it's creation right there. More to it than meets the eye I think.

Exactly what I need since I live in Mexico and the rental homes here don't have true 220v outlets. Yes, I could buy an inverter welder from a welding supply shop, but I love my 110v fluxed-core/MIG welder, plus I do more sheet metal work than structural steelworking.
Again, great video and I got a variety of bolts with me, including Allen bolts. I do a lot of drilling too, but on sheet metal.

Best part about 3d printing it, is making different plates that hold the objects! Going to make this for work. Make plates for holding different gauge wires, one for pipes and one that's hatched like this one!!! I have a discord for ideas and for open source g-code if anyone wants to join!
