    Thanks for the comparison! I am trying to develop an app with two distinct types of users and a market space, eventually I would like to have premium features. The app also need to allow for advertising, the advertising will be short 15-20 second ads from local businesses not a plugin type. I have been working on this in bubble but am wondering since it would just be a wrapped web app if I should go with something that would allow for more native features.

    I’m switching from wix because it requires code to build out more complex web app stuff. I was going to bubble but now I’m 2nd guessing it. I’m a real estate agent building an app that requires dashboards, forms, would like push notifications (which I assume is coming to bubble with the native app feature coming).. somewhat of a Zillow app and not just the property search stuff but the backend, property management (allow tenants to pay landlords via stripe), listing management stuff. From what I’ve seen on bubble I can def accomplish what I need there but idk if I can do it on FF. I definitely like the editor, and design features on FF a lot better but I really just need the foundational stuff and the flexibility to build out whatever I want or at least as close to it. I’m not a dev, idk how to code, I was using AI to code some things in Wix.

    • @AnthonyAllioo
      @AnthonyAllioo 8 месяцев назад +1

      And Wix did the same thing with the pricing for Wix Studio which prompted me to leave because they put limits on the CMS and I was justifying not knowing code and trying to learn it to build on wix because the CMS was pretty much limitless but now I’m like I might as well build on a no-code platform.
      I’m also back and forth about the lock-in stuff because I’m honestly only expecting to be using this with my clients so it wouldn’t be thousands of users, maybe not even hundreds at a time. I think bubble’s change isn’t a huge deal to me, but I would also be building out a admin CRM for me to interact with my clients but I don’t think the work unit thing should be a problem.
      My bad for these paragraphs but I’m having a hard time trying to figure out which one to dive in and learn lol but to wrap up, at least initially, I don’t have paying customers paying into the app directly outside of the property management tool that won’t have a bunch of clients. Clients hire me as their agent but utilize my app for the transaction.

    • @docwilliams
      @docwilliams  8 месяцев назад +3

      Hey no worries thanks for explaining and great questions.
      This really depends on if you want to focus on an app or web experience.
      If you want to go more mobile and app and worried about the locked in problem I would go with FlutterFlow.
      You’ll be able to export your code and scale for an app.
      If you’re going more web and exact flexibility I would consider flutterflow or weweb.
      We’ll doing more weweb breakdown videos in the future and if you want FF check out our beginner videos.
      Let me know if you have more questions take care!

      @@docwilliams I think ima keep rocking with Bubble. Flutterflow seems more complicated when it comes to complex workflows and me not be super techy and already behind because I have to pivot from wix it’s easier to have a built in backend so I’m weWeb isn’t even a thought for that. Plus I gotta get back to my real estate business and I’ve already learned a little bit of bubble. lol and they’re dropping native apps! If the app happens to take off further I’ll pivot again and pay someone to build it out.

    I've invested so much time learning Bubble the last few weeks and this's discouraging me from moving on to a new app.
    I am focusing on building an AI website that generates videos, images, and voice-overs for ads depending on the parameters the user enters, so you can imagine I will need to use a TON of API's from different platforms and a TON of data to train the AI models to adhere to the customer's taste.
    However, I'm not sure if there's any other platform that offers robust database management and good flexibility in connecting API's and plugins. Bubble UI design suck and suck the souls out of me when I try to design something and that's the main reason I want to switch to a different platform that offers a good robust system for what I've mentioned AND most importantly easy UI design, preferably drag and drop to get started quickly.
    Do you have any specific platform recommendations, Doc?
    Much thanks in advance

    • @docwilliams
      @docwilliams  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey great question and glad to hear about your project. For what you’re looking to accomplish my suggestion might be to stick with bubble if it makes sense financially for you.
      For example have you validated your idea with paid customers?
      If not, I would stay with bubble because you have the speed advantage and have been building in the platform.
      I would be more concern about validation and pricing your services correctly to see how the market reacts.
      There are possible other options but I would like to hear where you currently are before suggesting alternatives.

    • @Tahycoon
      @Tahycoon 10 месяцев назад

      @@docwilliams Hey Doc, thanks for the reply.
      I did not validate my idea yet with real customers, I did market research and saw my competitors doing well from the page visits and getting on some news, it's a pretty new market and many of these companies don't really work enough to fine tune their API AI models so they produce somewhat less quality that what I am aiming for. Some of them are AdCreative AI, Steve AI, and Smartly IO.
      I don't really have that much savings which is the reason I wanted to explore different options that are robust and affordable.
      I remember wanting to learn full-stack coding but thankfully got introduced to no-code tools before that heavy time investment.
      Right now I explored some functions of Figma for design and Framer as well, if Framer had the same workflow/database and API connection features as Bubble I would've 100% gone for it.
      Looking forward to hearing from you.
      I love Bubble, but the UI design is really painful, I wanted to add a simple glass effect/background blur and saw 0 tutorials on it and had to figure out how to code it while other platforms have tons and tons of tutorials for small every thing.
      (I did hear some people suggesting changing my Bubble domain for the backend stuff and the landing page published with Framer for example but that seems inefficient.
      I also read about using multiple no-code tools each for a specific use such as Airtable, Zapier, Figma, and Workflow but I'm not sure if that work spread would be worth it)

    Thx for your summery, I'm inbetween both now, as flutterflow won't work in China.. and I don't see bubble as the right fit as it can't do apps

      No problem! Interesting 🧐 about the issue in China about FlutterFlow I haven’t heard that before.

      Flutterflow and Firebase are google based, which is not accessible within China since 2008

    Can I build mobile apps with an existing bubble web app?

      Great question! Technically yes, With bubble you can create an app wrapper but it will not have the same functionality as a native app.

      For that type of project I would be looking at toddle (toddle.dev/) or bildr (www.bildr.com/) for that idea.

      @@docwilliams i searched them up, but they also have vendor lock in like bubble...bubble is definitely more powerful..why use these 2?

    • @docwilliams
      @docwilliams  3 месяца назад +2

      @@dvine3488 ok so there’s a couple things to unpack.
      If you’re concerned with vendor lock in (which understandable) that limits your options for what you want to do with no code or low code.
      If vendor lockin is the main issue flutterflow would be your main option but that platform is not equipped to merely by a comp for discord or facebook unless you’re going for a specific feature and then we could talk about that.
      Toddle and bildr both have specific strength and can be more powerful than bubble depending in your goals.
      Bubble does win as an overall builder but this depends on your exact use case and proficiency with css, javascript etc. to increase functionality.
      So to explore this more you have to first answer- what level are coming at this point? What is your main problem? I.e vendor lock-in etc
      What is the one feature you need for your mvp right now?

      @@docwilliams if I use bubble, can I export the database from bubble? If I can get a development team to build the front end and backend from scratch and have them transfer databases from bubble to the new created one? Not exporting the code, but the databases within the app?

    • @docwilliams
      @docwilliams  3 месяца назад +2

      @@dvine3488 in general yes you can use your choice of backends and you’ll need devs skilled in using xano, supabase etc. but yes it’s possible.
      Depends on how the database is designed and actions or association needed for the app but yes you can use a third party database.

      I would check with the FF via twitter for the answer or verify different backend options in the flutterflow documentation here- docs.flutterflow.io/data-and-backend/firebase/firestore-database
