The most polite people I have ever seen! Try asking someone if they can sit somewhere else so you and your friends can skate the bench they are on here in the states and you'll get tazed!!

You're screwed if you try to ask in English, however. Quebecois generally do not like to interact with English speakers.
I feel more welcome to visit again. I always felt like an American fool because my French is terrible.
M Ouija As a quebecer, I dont care if you speak english as long as you at least try to speak french. The problem is that our language is in danger since we are only 7 million in america. But don't worry youre always welcome in Montréal :)
I live near Montreal and I can assure it's a great place to skate. Winter sucks, but this city do have great spots. Maudite hiver de marde !

Those little flat bars always get my attention every time i'm in Montreal.
I skated with the O locals a couple years ago... very nice and welcoming guys. Of course they had beer delivered too...
i live in montreal, riding there is awesom, i often go to the TAZ skatepark which is so immense and fun

Toronto is wayyyy sicker. Plus you don't have to deal with the worst discrimination in Canada if you're not a francophone. If you don't speak French in Montreal then id say 60% of the people will HATE you. In the rest of Quebec if you can't speak french then 90% of People will hate you.

that guy in the tims was insane. very skilled to be able to do that in those boots. if you look at his front foot when he popped the nollie flip it definitely wasn't far enough forward to be anything close to convenient for him. I'm very suprised he was able to pull it off with that kind of a handicap.

winter is not 7 months long there, he's exagerating, more like 3-4 months of sheer winter with snow always on the ground. Skating is usually fine between mid way through march until the start of december.
You can't skate in march because they didn't clean the streets from the gravel they put to keep from sliding on ice.
Gabe Newell If you're from a smaller town/suburb then yeah it might take them longer to clean the streets.. But downtown Toronto its clean right away in March
brettartie I didn't do skateboard when I lived in Montreal so you're probably right.
it starts to snow mid/end of november and most spots are usually clear around april. So around 5-6months of winter per year. And that doesn't include the cold ass weather where you're feeling all stiff and you're hands are all dry because it's -15 degres outside. (around october till mid november and from march until may.) So hes somewhat right when he says there's only around 5 months per year where you can skate with a confortable weather.

I live in Mtl too and i dont care about whinter cus i can snowboard while 7 month (best way to pass the whinter realy fast) and after u are ready to skateboard for the summer :) and yeah this city have really nice snowboarding spots too :P

Yeah man! One time I was skating, just a public bench. Some dude goes to sit down as my buddy was about to grind it so my buddy pulled back a rolled right past it. The guy got up, went up to him and said "Sorry man, didn't notice you guys skating it" It was awesome because he had every right to sit down, instead he chose to let us skate something that wasn't even meant to be skated.
This was sweet! Glad to see Canada get a "SKATE" on RIDE. Now I just want to see Davis do one in Minneapolis.

at 4:11 is the only spot I ever skated when I visited MTL. I always went up there for the Under Pressure graffiti event, so skating was second priority. Maybe I was hanging in the wrong areas, but MTL is a wild town from my experience. St. Catharine is madness at night.

haha this guy is the Canadian version of Jake Phelps. Not obnoxious, not loud, and not a complete douche. Great piece on MTL. It is indeed a beautiful city.
