    My loved-ones say they can't relate to the people I love on RUclips. You are so real and down-to-earth that I feel you can appeal to people of ANY income class and education level. Your relatability says something about you as a person. Back to my binge-watching, note-taking, and implementation!

    • @keamber.vaughn
      @keamber.vaughn  6 лет назад +2

      I really truly appreciate that! That's really the only reason why I felt compelled to start sharing my journey and knowledge on YT was to show people what they can do if they put their mind to it. And I try to do so in a way where I can appeal to all sorts of people. Although certain parts of my journey may not be relatable to others my goal is to be as relatable as possible :)

    Nice to see financial advice from someone who looks like me who is also NOT flat broke because you managed your time and money well. Tired of advice from people who never seem to make any progress, but constantly tell others that they can make it!
    I am learning from and throughly enjoying your videos.

      +tvdavis Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! That was my whole point of making my YT channel. To put another person who looks like me in this space to show people what's possible. Too often "we" give up because everyone we see succeeding looks nothing like us!

      Hi tvdavis. I am svdavis. I totally agree that we should divide the cost of an item by our hourly pay. Knowing how many hours you have to work to buy an item will make you reconsider buying it.

      +Chiblie Coleman thank you!! I used to calendarize my expenses but not track them and although I wasn't a big spender tracking the expenses made a big difference especially during tax time. I no longer had to check all 12 bank statements for business expenses. I could just check my expense trackers month to month and look for that specific category lol

    Great strategy to think how many hours you need to work to buy something will definitely put things in perspective.

    • @keamber.vaughn
      @keamber.vaughn  7 лет назад

      Absolutely! I think if more people did this, people wouldn't struggle so much financially. Just yesterday I saw an individual say they were working 90 hours a week to save to buy a $4,000 surround sound system. Amazing how much people really don't think about how much their purchase is REALLY costing them (labor).

      It works great the other way around, as well. As a motivator when at work, and having a long day. Count that income pr minute, or every 2-10 minutes to where you find an even number, then add as you go along.

    We make our income tax work for us. He makes 20k a year. They take $300 in taxes before handing him his paycheck but our income tax is great. So we prepay all our ultilites, thousands gone bam. No more shut off notices. We lived in this house for over 5 years and know what the grand total of the ultilites run usually. Add in few hundred just in case and voila no worries. Also pre buy food. Stock pile freezer and cupboards. Save one grand of income tax money. All done. Now every month for once we can save money, knock down the 12k debt of vehicle payment faster, and live a little. Weekend State Park vacations for sure now. :)

    Hi Coach Ke, I am a new subscriber and I've watched all of your recent videos. I just got into watching older videos and I think the intro on this video is WAY better than your current one. This intro is better because you look much more professional and you tell your viewers about what qualifies you to give us advice.

    • @keamber.vaughn
      @keamber.vaughn  6 лет назад +2

      Hey darlin! Thank you for that feedback! I guess I never really thought of it that way. I really just wanted something different for 1 and for 2 because I'm really sharing my personal journey from my own standpoint of going through it myself not from a professional standpoint (just like many other budgeters on YT). Maybe I'll keep my current intro for non-advice vids and put the professional/qualifying one on the advice type of vids. But I'll be doing a new intro soon as I'll be debt free and that'll be the "qualifier" off the top! lol

    When counting how many hours it takes you to earn something, don’t forget that there are some hours that need to go towards the things like housing and food that you can’t choose not to buy. Also, there is a limited amount of hours you can work without killing yourselves, because there is time that needs to be spent sleeping and resting and taking care of your family.

    • @keamber.vaughn
      @keamber.vaughn  6 лет назад

      Oh absolutely! People should take that into consideration with those things as well. I think if more people did they wouldn't be in such financial binds for so long. I know people who make $9-10 an hour yet buy $150 shoes once a month. Why? It makes no sense.

    I avoid the paycheck & payments being lopsided, by paying 50% of each bill from each check. On occasion I have to pay a bill’s full amount because of how its due date and my pay date line up. This gives my budget more consistency with expenses and savings.

    I agree with your tips of avoiding wasteful spending. For African Americans its not easy finding and earning income after the 1990's.
    The era of the so called American dream is over. Personally I'm not a extremely wasteful spender all my $ goes to bills. Until we are able to tap into jobs with/without degree that yield a proper income most blacks will struggle.
    Rent is at the cheapest $1000 I'm single and think a single person needs $1800 after taxes (in the south) to pay bills save and enjoy themselves within reason.
    For blacks who are responsible please understand it is the past of slavery that has harmed you presently. We desperately need to be informed of companies hiring (not $12/hr) and trades that don't cost us a fortune to get. Blacks have great business ideas but will be denied for the loan versus a immigrant who will sell old produce in urban areas and get the loan. Please view tone talks channel and read the wealth data reports. I know I'm doing all I can in 24hrs without being gravely ill now or later in life 🙏.

We have property taxes PLUS having to renew our plates every 1 or 2 years depending on which one you choose. So either you're watching a video that doesn't apply to you OR you have a $50,000 net worth and you're living paycheck to paycheck, which if that's the case, I could have a negative net worth and still be in a better predicament than you are if I'm not living paycheck to paycheck but you are.
