    when i first came here, i couldnt keep up with normal speed. But now, i can understand at 2x speed! i didnt think i could improve but these videos helped me a lot, to gauge what i could and couldnt do, and to learn keigo and vocab. Thanks benjiro san, wherever u are i hope your doing great!

    Conversations like these are probably the most helpful tool for beginners. Much more useful than exclusively studying textbooks and flash cards, since input is more important than output really.

    Pretty happy I’ve came back to this video after a year of no study and somehow can understand it way better than before! I did just finish a core 1k deck on anki as my first study of the year but other than that somehow my comprehension has improved so yay

    Really nice live videos. Thanks to everyone for uploading. These daily life videos teach better Japanese better than ready books or listening to audios, podcasts.. I wish I could have known earlier. Anyway Better late than never.

    Very good material, way better than many other resources. I just wanna reach already the stage where I can understand some jp shows and movies, just enough to fill in the blanks. There are a lot of shows that don't get subbed.

    I'm still at the early phase of a beginner level japanese but I'm so happy that I could understand about 50% of what are being said in this video. It's so good that you can acknowledge progress, makes me more fired up to learn more. Thank you to the person who runs this channel, I hope you can post more videos like this and hopefully put a complete subtitles in them, I'd be happy to make some donation for that

      I know this is months later, but he is saying "Italki" the name of the website where you can talk to people to learn languages. The next question Benjiro asks is "Did you begin using Italki this year?"

    Hello Benjiro, do you recommend watching the same video multiple times until you know it 100% for listening practice before moving onto the next video to build up listening comprehension?
    I am debating whether to binge watch your videos or stick with one before I move on to the next. Any answer will help, thank you very much. .

      Either works. It's not like these vids were sequenced by difficulty or anything. There's a lot of the same grammatical structures amongst all the vids, yet some are harder, some are easier (usually due to there being more random vocabulary + speed of speech). I would just play them at random.

    The Japanese guy seems to hesitate a bit while speaking. I wonder if that's because he struggles a little when simplifying his language to make it appropriate for a beginner's level.

      Learning thousands of vocab via SRS helped speed things up a lot for me.
