Watching Kenneth Williams is very, very, rarely a waste of time. A very clever, and very funny, man.

Kenneth was such an incredible and unique talent. An extremely complex character who had his demons and could be difficult, but you can't expect an easy going personality to go with such astounding genius. A born entertainer who gave joy to millions, and there will never be another like him.

Keegan was very defensive about not blaming the players. Williams didn’t mention the players. All he said was that football brings out violence in the fans. Which is an absolute fact. Keegan ‘doth protest too much’!

I wonder what his thoughts were about Lorraine ? As he was a very clever, articulate man , who was also quite scatting about many people .
His diaries paint a picture of a man who didn't suffer fools gladly , and wasn't a particularly social man , despite his obvious genius at story telling .
A great raconteur and mimic , yet a very private man , who almost certainly struggled with his sexuality . Which most likely left him quite lonely .
Off course I'm only speculating on his life away from the glare of the cameras , or the spotlight . But it does seem to me , that he never found peace.

      thanks that's a good piece
i've always been a huge admirer of his
      but i can't help feel a sadness..
thinking of him coming on this show..
putting up with Parkinson (i don't see it myself, wogan for me lol)
the laughter at him.. putting on the voice..
      who am I today?
been falling asleep to him in Hancock for about forty years now 🙂

I could imagine him being fond of Lorraine, she was no fool, the ditzy girl was just her schtick, much the same as Babs and as we know Kenny and Babs were huge pals

I have the diaries. It was obvious he liked her and Mirium M, as they are both mentioned a number of times in positive ways simultaneously. He also mentions this episode, saying he liked KK(Dishy he called him) and of course, L C. He had a wonderful evening doing it.@@npc3po301

I’ve read the diaries cover to cover and he was certainly angst ridden about his sexuality and prone to episodes of severe depression but I wouldn’t say he wasn’t sociable. His closest friends like Gordon and Rona Jackson, Stanley Baxter and Maggie Smith clearly meant a lot to him (and vice versa) and many lesser friends and acquaintances expressed astonishment, on posthumous publication, at how dark his diaries could be, when he usually came across as lively and upbeat. Some of the people he was waspish and critical of were hurt because they had no idea at the time that’s how he felt.

Parkinson was the pinhead that poked and picked at the comically odd winkle until the grit came out. He preened in presenting this discovered detritus, believing it to be deeply nourishing if gnawed incisively, as did the twinkling winkle upon dissection, but it wasn't.
Those who gagged between gags, were lost for the joke.
Lorraine learned what happens when the foil that makes it funny is the one who foils the plot. Had he learned well how to be a good sport, he would have let her make them laugh.
Perhaps it was much more than jealousy that led the Hancock team to get shot of the show's second star. There was a hole in the ship when he left, but he may have helped sink it faster if he'd stayed.

Very loquacious😮 Yet I couldn't listen to himffor very long as he goes on and on, hardly pausing for otthers to comment or interject!
I saw a doco about him with other people talking about him and one person mentioned he hated it if someone would 'steal' the scene or situationfrom him.
He could be arrogant and pompous and very prickly yet he was extremely guilty of being gay which surprised me!
I just find that I'm uncomfortable about his prescence.😮😢
