    I forgot to mention this!
    Why would you choose A Master mod over a basic Power Increase mod?
    For instance:
    - Freyna is toxic therefore "Toxic Master" Module would benefit her 0.444 Skill Power Boost Ratio + 0.19 Toxic Boost Ratio which is a total of 63.4% Boost
    - "Power Increase" would benefit her 0.65 Skill Power Boost Ratio only! So a total of 65% Boost.
    It would make sense to choose "Power Increase" over "Toxic Master" because of the slight difference right? Well, key this in your calculator.
    Lets just say Freyna has 1000 skill power from her reactor.
    If you use Power Increase
    1000 * 1.65( 65% Skill Power Boost Ratio) = 1650
    If you use Toxic Master
    1000 * 1.444( 44.4 % Skill Power Boost Ratio) * 1.19 (Toxic Skill Power Boost Ratio) = 1718.36
    Why does this happen? Because Skill Power Boost Ratio is Multiplicative unlike Modifiers which is Additive.
    Basically, the extra 19% you are boosting with "Toxic Master" is actuallly increasing the *ALREADY INCREASED* value from the previous 44.4% Boost!
    The 65% Boost you got from "Power Increase" however only boost the BASE VALUE by 65% since there is only one variable/type of boost.
    Remember!
    -Lets compare 2 * 5 and 7.
    -7 is the total of 2 + 5.
    10 * 2 * 5 = 100
    10 * 7 = 70
    This is what it means when numbers are multiplicative!
    P.S I am aware that currently the 'Specialist" mods are superior compared to these two as the boost that benefits is way higher. I am just making this comment to make sure people dont misunderstand the difference between multiplicative and additive.

      @pillagius Месяц назад +1

      True.
      A counter point - you never mod to use more than two abilities effectively. Even then in most cases there's a "main" ability you're using.
      So maaaybe in the future there would really be a Descendant that has multi-element abilities, but currently outside not having access to "Focus on X" mod or "X Specialist" - there's no reason to ever use "Master" mods, not the way they're now.
      Overall, I find TFD modding overly expensive and rigid, forcing you into "locking" yourself in specific builds if you're trying to min/max things and requiring long, tedious re-leveling process (pathetic 30% boosters especially tick me off, knowing that the game inspiring TFD has x2 boosters and free x2 XP/Money/loot weekends).
      Hopefully it will be rebalanced overtime.

      @@pillagius Agreed. Flexibility of builds in the game currently is severely lacking compared to Warframe. All we can do is hope that they amend it over time as even Warframe took a while to find the perfect mix of balance/absurdity of builds.

      Thank you! As for theory crafting / minmaxing videos, there's definitely gonna be some similar videos down the line planned. However I truly believe there are already more qualified youtubers who has already done this.
      I plan to make videos showing the thought process of how I approach in building descendants where I aim to help you guys understand where to begin with builds rather than being dependent and copying builds off youtube just because its the "best". I think actually learning how to theory craft/min max builds yourself is even more fun and improves the overall experience of the game.
      I truly believe there is no wrong/right way to build a descendant /gun. It all depends on preference in the end where you would have to find the perfect build that suits you the most.

    Just in case if somebody testing damage in Albion's lab - there can be slight deviations depending on enemy resistances. With Lightning, Poison and Cold it's easier tho, since you have enemy types at lvl1 vulnerable to them.
    EXAMPLE.
    Starting with very basic test: 11060.96 - base skill power, absolutely no other Skill Power bonuses and only modifier is the skill modifier.
    "Lightning Emission" with "High Voltage" at no Electricity charge (so it adds 0% skill power modifier) has only 250.5% skill power modifier. calculating -> 1106.96*2.505 = 27`707.7048.
    Practical Test using lvl 40 Bunny, vs lvl 1 Legion of Immortality - 25366, Legion of Darkness - 25310, but vs "weak vs Electricity" enemy (Order of Truth) its 27`707 as it should.
    OK, so "Weak to X" has no resistance, while others have some from the looks of it.
    --
    Ramping up to "full power": 18759.39*1.081*2.087*1.27=53737.9 (My "proper" reactor skill power multiplied by the multipliers shown in the menu, which are Skill Power, Electric Skill Power and Singular Skill Power respectively).
    Multiplying result by 2.505 skill power modifier again = 134613.43. Testing: Order of Truth =134641, Legion of Immortality = 122944, Legion of Darkness = 123264... What the?..
    So it seems that enemies that are "weak" to an element actually have negative 1-2% resistance to it.
    --
    Same thing happens when I add Skill Power Modifier. at 76.1% Singular Skill Modifier (Which fits Lightning Emission) my modifier goes from 2.505 to 3.266, resulting in 175507 damage but in practice Order of Truth enemy took 175544 damage. That further confirms it. I think...

    One of my complaints for this game, is that if you are planning to go for global audience, then why you did not adopt the simplified already made mathematical systems by the top competitors of the scene (or even adopt a clear Final Status UI} that you are clearly trying to out perform in some areas!!
    It's very infuriating when Devs have or apply the technology inside their product in some areas but not to all areas, I dnno if its rushed , lazy or damn right stupid design ngl!

    When we have a mod like focus on dimension & thus its focusing your dimension skills, where does that plug in? I ask because unlike, say .. electric specialist that focuses electric skill power in general , the focus on dimension is a dimension skill power specific modifier. Does that add on to whatever your dim skills particular skill power is? Which is then multiplied by every thing else at the end? Damn, math is confusing.
    My problem is , i keep second guessing my builds that ive copied from certain youtubers. It takes hours of grinding, so many catalysts, & full commitment to max a build.. then i look at it & question whether i should have chosen to use mods that focus my most used skills. Part of me feels that the mods that focus your achetype as a whole (like electric for bunny), are ultimately more powerful & effective than singling out skill types like dimension/singular etc.
    Idfk anymore 😂 😅

    • @boobben8092
      @boobben8092  Месяц назад

      1. Yeah, dimension skill modules will only effect your dimension focused skills.
      2. Whether which is more effective (Full electric or Singling out skills) is entirely up to your playstyle. Remember, you have 3 setttings more mods per descendant. Don't forget to use all of them to experiment with variety of builds in different scenarios.

    Simply put, Im terrible at math. I main Valby. Im trying to understand my tick damage over time based off of my skill power modifiers. With valby, most of my skills have non-attribute boost from added mods & dimension skill power boost considering I use her 3rd skill the most. Problem is, to do this skill power increase, there comes a negative skill power modifier. What thats done, overall, is make my skill powers red and less.
    Essentially, I have a difficult time calculating my continuous tick damage with her. I understand that skill power modifiers are added not multiplied, I guess Im just curious about how decent my damage over time actually is with my setup. (note - Im not only ass at math lol, but FD is my first game like this that Ive played) 😅

    • @boobben8092
      @boobben8092  Месяц назад +3

      I understand, the important thing to learn about games like these is that there is no wrong way to play a character.
      Anything you build eventually benefits your descendants in a certain way. For you to find out what works best, is to experiment and eventually find what works best for you.
      For instance, my Esiemo,
      - When i am solo, I sacrifice power for more defense and focus on trying to survive
      - In a group, i go full on skill power
      - When farming, i focus on range
      Maybe for you, Valby
      - Burst down enemies, one shot!? Maybe focus on Skill Power but sacrifice skill cost
      - Want to spread your damage as much as possible and damage over time, Range, duration,modifier. Sacrifice some modifier dmg sure, but make it up by increasing the duration instead.
      Experiment, and find whats best for you. Don't be afraid to spend your kuiper for most modules as you're going to be using them in the future eventually :)

    • @boobben8092
      @boobben8092  Месяц назад +1

      1. For weapon stats, I am not too sure if you can calculate it similarly. Usually, i just apply modules and check if they increase that specific stats etc.
      2. As for the x behind numbers, that usually means its a "floating infinite number'. For instance, 3.026x means it can be 3.0261111111111....and so on. The x just basically means its rounding off the numbers for you showing you what matters only. So 3.026x means its 302.6% rather than writing it is as 302.6183948038...%. Whatever it is, anything classified in x usually is not too significant to affect the number heavily so you do not have to worry about it. The game is just simplifying it for you.

      - All Skill Power "multiply into each other*
      - All Skill Power Modifier "Add up to each other"
      However this is only based off what the community has said through testing of course, I just wish games like these are more clear in explaining how their stats interact with each other.

    For Bunny, her 3 ability has base 140% Skill Power Modifier, is it better to use SKill power or Skill power MODIFIER?
    Valby also 138% Skill Power Modifier on her 3 ability. These are both over 100% but are they considered "WAY" over 100% to warrant NOT using skill power modifier mod?

    • @boobben8092

      This requires experimentation,
      From my experience, skill power maxed mods vs skill power modifier mods maxed on skills like that only make a little difference in the end.
      I still recommend focusing on Skill Power, nevertheless its also good to have both because eventually you wont have any other mods to put anyways, currently there is not a lot of mods in the game to really make a focused skill power-only build or skill power modifier-only build right now.
      However, once more mods exist in the future especially in the Skill Power section, then I would suggest replacing those modifier mods with these new mods.

      From experimentation I've done so far, because of the mod type limitations best you can get is ("Electric Specialist" + "Singular Specialist" + "Spear and Shield" )for most damage or ("Focus on Electric" + "Focus on Singular" + "Spear and Shield") for slightly less damage but extra 12% cooldown.
      Ideally, it would be best to stack Skill Power as it gives the most bang for your buck, but most mods that give Skill Power are classified as "Battle" and you can't equip multiple mods of same class. There's Spear and Shield that give fixed 8.1% Skill Power at all mod levels and a few "Ultimate" (gold) mods that give extra Skill Power situationally, like Dangerous Ambush and Walk a Tightrope, but that's again... Situational. Nice to have tho.
      Now calculation example:
      Say we take same 76.1% in one case for Skill Power and in other for Skill Power Modifier (kind of like Electric Specialist and Singular Specialist) at relatively average power 15485.34 (rare lvl100 reactor with correct weapon type equipped):
      - With Skill Power we get 15485.34+(15485.34*0.761)= 27269.6837 that's the the total Skill Power and now 27269.6837*1.487=40550,019 damage where 1.487 is the Lightning Emission base Skill Power Modifier.
      - Meanwhile with Skill Power Modifier calculation is a bit more modest 15485.34*(1.487+0.761)=34811. Almost 6000 damage loss.

    What i cant understand is the base skill power, if youre adding skill power why doesnt it change the base skill power number in the bottom right if its a boost to base skill power? Its as if every thing is called skill power, but serves in so many differing ways.
    Also, i was curious - why are the specialist mods superior right now? Is it that the boost of skill power & electric skill power from elec master (for instance) is still not coming out to more than the overall boost of a higher elec boost percentage alone from elec specialist when all calculated?

      @boobben8092  Месяц назад +1

      To answer your
      1st Question : I understand why its confusing, its not your fault. It's just the games tooltip lack of information in displaying information like that. Hopefully, they will actually update it accordingly in the future to make it more clear.
      2nd Question : Yep, currently specialist mods brings out more of a overall boost compared to a master mod right now, its not significantly huge but its still something. I assume this will change in the future once multiple elemental descendants exist.

    • @boobben8092
      @boobben8092  Месяц назад

      There is no actual "Right" way.
      Whatever module you install on your descendants will always empower them in one way or another.
      You need to find what do you want:
      1. More Burst? = Skill Power focused [ Make sure your descendant has bursty skills of course]
      2. More Damage over time? = Power Modifier [ Usually for DOT descendants like Freyna/Valby]
      HOWEVER, the opposite is still viable and not a "wrong" way to build.
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      For instance, Freyna's Q has two separate damage occurrence when it hits an enemy :
      - One on IMPACT [Which is a Burst-type damage since it deals like Skill Power * 200%].
      - Then a continuous poison damage AFTER the impact on the same enemy hit , [Skill Power * 10% per second damage per tick]
      If you focus on SKILL POWER, her Q's IMPACT will HIT HARDER.
      If you focus on SKILL POWER MODIFIER, her POISON DAMAGE OVER TIME is HIGHER PER SECOND
      If you're unsure why is this is the case, take a look at 26:19 .
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      So the important question really is, What do you want your descendant to do? Which do you prefer?
      Nobody (Including me) is dead set right, we are just recommending what is "efficient" but in my opinion, Preference > Efficiency especially when it comes to video games :)
      Experiment with them, find what's right for you. Hopefully you find what suits you the best.

      - Remember to invest into duration/cooldown to ensure you can maximize the time your barrier/orb is up if you are playing around those skills.

    My question is does element/type mods matter. Like on blair, do i want fire skill damage or dimension??

    • @boobben8092
      @boobben8092  Месяц назад +1

      That depends on your preference and skill archetype
      For instance lets just say if Blair Q is Fire/Dimension as an example :
      - Using Fusion focused mods will benefit in terms of numbers higher however will only benefit your Q more compared to your other skills
      - Using General Skill Power [No elements] willl benefit all skills equally but has less value overall compared to elemental focused modules. So your Q damage is increased, but not as much as one would if you focus on its Fusion Archetype as well
      At the end of the day, compare how much boost are you getting from all these mods and try with different combinations to check which one is the best for you
      1. Do keep in mind then whenever you're focused on the 2nd Archetype [Fusion/Dimension/Singular/Tech...] its only gonna benefit 2 out 4 of your skills greatly compared to the other two. So it usually revolves around builds focusing on specific skills usage
      2. Elemental mods on the other hand [Fire/Chill/Toxin/Electric/Non-Attribute] currently function similarly to Skill Power Boost Ratio which is the non elemental boost version with a slight difference in value of how much it increases.
      P.S : I assume the reason elemental mods boost ratio are very similar to skill boost ratio now is because the current lineup of descendants right now only have one unique element each. I theorize there's gonna be descendants with multiple elements in the future where these mods make a bigger difference in determining which skill to make stronger.

    • @boobben8092
      @boobben8092  Месяц назад +1

      Unfortunately, I havent unlocked her yet. But based on what I am seeing, Gley is a bit special where the dmg originates mostly from her guns since shes able to tap into a state that grants her infinite ammo.
      -Therefore if youre looking for infinite ammo build, focus on modding up your gun and keeping the duration of your "Frenzied" state with infinite ammo longer
      -If you are looking for skill damage, only her 2nd/4th skill has some modifier involved with skill power.
      - 2nd skill benefits more from Skill Power
      - 4th skill benefits more from Modifier
      Its up to your experimentation to figure out what works the best you. Gley is quite popular , there are already lots of build videos online available for her already. Take your time and don't try to copy them, but learn why they would choose those modules for her.
      Unfortunately, I am unable to make any build videos for her right now as my Gley is still currently in a crafting process. Furthermore, I like to take my time making these videos to ensure its the best form of information available for everyone.
