5 years ago we thought we had our guy.
Now we’re in a worse place than when we got him. Pain.
Numerically SF was the worst coach in Nebraska history. 5 years didn't even make a bowl. The highlight of last year was saving Northwestern from going 0-12.
I’m stunned, Michigan fan here but regular follower of Nebraska and a fan of the programs tradition and history. I really thought this year would be the year to get over the hump. Now it’s becoming clear that last year was the time to take the leap and frost blew it with terrible coaching. This season is already lost, if they can’t beat Georgia southern good luck once conference schedule starts. Wisconsin and Iowa both look rough too (especially Iowa) but even so I still have zero confidence this Nebraska program can pull off a win when there is any whiff of adversity.
Michigan fan here as well that follows Nebraska and a handful of other programs. What Nebraska is experiencing now is what we experienced at Michigan during the rich rod era. Sadly Nebraska has let this go on for far too long and I don’t think there will be an answer for decades that will bring this program back to relevancy. Recruits now a days aren’t really dying to go live in Nebraska or play for a Nebraska team that is known for underachieving for the past 2 decades

Michigan fan here. Man, I feel for you guys. We went through our Lost Decade (well, 15 years!) from Carr's final season until we bottomed out in 2020. It's a tough climb to the top once you've been down for so long, and sadly, some programs never fully recover. I'm hoping like hell Nebraska doesn't turn into a yesteryear program. The B1G needs a competitive Nebraska.

As we come to the end of the Scott Frost era I ask, was there ever any progress? Since the day Frost stepped in has the team ever gotten any ounce better? Think about it.
I will admit if this game is evidence of what the offense can do, they'll be fun to watch the next 9 games. But no progress since day one. Still the same issues.

Frost should do us all a favor and walk away, let Mark Whipple take over and take the 15 million and give back over half. That is much better than watching him lead this team to 1-5 record before by October 1st.

The arrogance of this guy towards Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern was just that good. A lot of people thought this would be an easy win for Nebraska 🤡. People who are not from the south don’t realize the competition is WAY more intense in the south. Georgia Southern plays UGA every other year. We have Division 1AA schools in Georgia that would give Nebraska a run for its money 🤣. Georgia Southern controlled the football much better. Talent wise, both teams were equally matched. Why would Nebraska even think this would be a push over team?

Waking up the echoes of the past is no easy task. When I think of Nebraska Football I think of tough, hard nosed option style football, Tom Osborne, Tommy Frazier and Lawrence Phillips. Sadly, all of those guys and that style of football left us before the turn of the century. To be honest, even the location of the school is an issue. The current day athlete really just doesn’t want to go to the country for their college experience. It’ll take someone with true vision to resurrect the Huskers. Someone that thinks outside the box and probably with no link to the programs’ past. Something similar to Chip Kelly at Oregon. It’s doable but it definitely won’t be easy.
I didn't watch game because I knew they'd lose. The QB situation was my biggest complaint with Frost. He played Martinez no matter how bad he was playing. This year they don't have one QB that can compete with OU next week. Won't be watching OU game either.

Yah Sam I think you got that right. Just where the heck is the defense man? They tackle poorly in the open field and are giving the other team more plays & opportunities. Just expected way more on defense in Frost 5th year than this. Too bad because the offense is starting to look good and balanced with a nice run game but they need help on the other side of the ball and aren't getting it.

It really is amazing that a football team can make due without talent at every position except... D-line and Nebraska is proving it this year. At this point a JV team from Pender could put up 200 yards rushing on this team because the muscles up front just aren’t there. If Nebraska played 7 on 7 they’d be 3-0
If they played 7 on 7, they would’ve still lost this game versus Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern had over 400 yards passing. Talent wise, Georgia Southern wide receivers were equally as talented as Nebraska defensive backs. Georgia Southern was the overall better team.

If they don't announce his firing on Monday I am going to be so disappointed. I rooted for him up until that onside kick. But it's obvious he needs to go. Who would replace him? I don't even care. When the announcer on last nights game called Frost the 'Ginger General' we are doomed with him as coach, I was wrong too in think he was the person for the job.
I know Nebraska fans want to win a few games more than they lose every year and beat some teams that most people think they should and a few they think they shouldn't, but if N fans think their program will ever return it's glory days, forget it! Done and gone. There is so much talent available today that teams you never heard of 10 years ago are virtual powerhouses today (Cincinnati, Louisville, South Florida, etc. teams Nebraska used to schedule so they could tune up their offense with a 50-60 point game) Nebraska will not be able to recruit the top tier talent to Lincoln, sorry! And Ohio State is having problems, they aren't that good outside the Big 10. Look at Notre Dame, a mere shadow of their former selves and they too will NEVER get back. So, get rid of Frost, he's over his head, get a better coach and go 7-4, 8-3, 9-2 every year and be happy. No more undefeated, or national champions will EVER come out of Nebraska again.

It’s OVER finally. Scott and the staff has been in over their heads. Last year after the Illinois lost I knew it was over. I’ve been defending Scott and Staff for the first 3 seasons blaming Mike Riley. Riley had his part for sure. But under Scott nothing has improved. NOTHING. It’s done. Trev end this misery. And go get us a great head football coach and staff. And from the very Top at the administration level (you better be ALL IN!!!!!!) all the way down to the equipment managers!!!! This is the most critical football program hire in Nebraska’s history. Whatever it TAKES!!

I live in central georgia and im a embarrased husker fan, i lived in lincoln through the 70s. As i have been saying for the last 2 yrs, fire the top people of the husker football program and all coaches !!!!

How can this be the end? Scott Frost is the best Hucker player in the history of history. He's fantastic. Even former USC Coach Clay Helton says so! Every Husker fan dirtied themselves to get the fantastic favorite son, Frost. So stick with Frost... once he can start recruiting his kinda players, the wins will roll in. Give him 12 maybe 15 more years, and he'll be the great coach all Huskers BEGGED for five years ago. Husker fans asked for it - Husker fans got it!
