DC universe has a setting hole: No execution in the judicial system, while that exists in many countries’ law in reality, including the USA. If there is such thing, Batman does not have to argue with Superman, and they do not have to fight escaped villains endlessly. Then, maybe we should say the editors are the greatest villains behind Injustice series?
There are many states that have forbidden the death penalty though. More states than not. Granted, nuking an American city would likely be considered a federal-level crime for which the perpetrator would almost certainly be executed (like with the Oklahoma city bombing). But if we're just talking about Joker's normal crimes, it's totally feasible that he could continually dodge execution. The federal government only executes people under _very_ dire circumstances.
@@Doc_Fun Are you sure? Mental and physical torturing, also massacre. As Batman's most dangerous opponent, even if the Joker has not nuked the city, he has killed quite enough people. Even "deadly" is too weak to describe him, as he has caused too many worse-than-death state, just like what he does with Superman in Injustice series.
@@DrPhoenixJKZ All I'm saying is that the federal government typically only intervenes when a threat is seen as a matter of national security. If the Joker kept to small-time crime, even being a serial murderer like he is, it would generally be a matter of state government and thus subject to that state's laws on the death penalty. I'm not rendering judgement on the system, just explaining how it works.
@@Doc_Fun Hmm...... That does not sound reasonal. Because in that case, if a criminal massacre the whole city, as long as it is only in that city, he will not be given death penalty. And that is what Joker is. And even if you put him in prison, he will get out very soon. So, does this mean in real life, the fedral government will do nothing to someone like Joker, until he destorys a whole city, and be ready to destroy another one and make new addition to his criminal group?
@@Doc_Fun In China, Japan, and many other Asian countries, serial killers are bad enough to be executed if all their murders are intentional murders. Just think about this: A person is not just himself, but someone precious to his family and friends. That is why nothing makes up for people's life, no matter how many. Many heavy crimanl group leaders are even able to manipulate governments. If such people are not executed after serial killing, even if they do not kill anymore, they have one or another way to destroy people's life. Even if it is not national scale, it is fairly terrible enough. Just think about this: Even one big city can have tens of thousands people. How could a serial killer in such place be not dangerous enough just because it is not national scale?

I don't like Damien. I mean I really don't like him. From his character concept to execution, but I will admit he has a point about the traumatic brain injuries line....
The problem is: both sides of the argument can be clearly seen, and yet, neither is in the right! Bruce wants to arrest criminals because he took an oath to never kill, albeit by questionable means; but won't kill those who deserve it. Clark wants to kill all the criminals, but his judgment on the matter is clouded by Lois' death. Neither is 100% right. Neither is 100% wrong. They, effectively, cancel each other out.
Batman is right, but the things is: criminals go to prison, but they dont stay there, the "justice" and the "system" free them and they go back to do the same things again.
Cyborg says starfire died in the nuke but she survived and tried to stop Superman with the surviving members of The titans but Superman trapped them in the phantom zone. That’s cruel keeping that info from cyborg.
I'm not gonna say the scene doesn't have it's upsides (Damian's lines especially), but it retcons a ton from the comics. For starters, this was Nightwing's death scene. Damian was getting progressively antagonistic towards Batman 'No Kill' rule and betrayed him and Nightwing by taking Superman's side in this scene. During the fight, he kills Nightwing by accident in a fit of rage and when Batman finds the body of his first ward, he instinctively disowns Damian. Superman is also nowhere near as evil here. He still terrifying, but he's not explicitly here to kill anyone. (It was implied, but proven to be false). Even Zsasz is important in the comics since _someone_ plucked him out of prison and put him in the batcave to murder Alfred. Damian then murders him in his cell out of revenge. Superman and Sinestro denied everything, but the reader can connect the dots.
The lasso makes you tell the truth aka what you believe. Diana believes in Superman’s cause, so the lasso doesn’t change her mind on it. It would be interesting to see what effect the lasso would have on someone like the Flash on this world
in what world can batman just defeat wonder woman like this? he isnt strong enough to get her whip from her hands and even if he somehow could take it from here, the second he tried to use it against her she could just fly away carrying him straight into the sun
The problem isn't with Batman's no killing rule. It's the fact that the DCverse just doesn't kill the irredeemable murderers as punishment after trial,
While superman's point of view is logical and easy to support, the events on the 1rst injustice game almost drove him to destroy both gotham and metropolis because people complained when he killed lex luthor. Hell, he even let doomsday loose in metropolis. Logical matters aren't always the correct ones. There is brainiac as an example. It's easy to say that if they only continued to lock up the joker, he would escape, kill more millions, get captured, rinse and repeat. But his death at the wrong hands or at the wrong circumstances can twist fate in such a way that the destruction of planet earth could be reduced to an utter joke. "justice is blind, not heartless"
Superman was simply blinded by his own grief. He went through Denial but stopped at Anger and decided to make the world in his image in order to "stop crime" without realizing he himself has committed numerous crimes. Recall this zinger that Blue Beetle gave him: BB: "There a line you won't cross?" Superman: "I don't hurt children." BB: "Didn't stop you with Shazam."
@@AdderTude imo the worst part of killing shazam isn't the kill itself, but the fact that shazam saved his life from lex luthor's kryptonite cannon not even an hour ago. And he was executed just because he disagreed with invading other universes. "there's far, and there's too far. You've gone far enough, superman!" - Red hood
Hey, the traumatic brain injury thing is not fair... it's obviously done for cinematic action and should be taken with a grain of salt... How many things that'd make ordinary humans go splat have we seen in these comics that ordinary humans survive with little harm???
The problem with Superman’s ideology, is that yes the battle will never end. But crime can’t be ended. Where there is good, there will always be evil. Even if the world was put under Superman’s rule as a dictatorship, there would be crimes against his corrupt rule, and people would no longer fear criminals, but rather the justice league. As for Batman, his views are too black and white, he fails to see the grey in some situations. Most likely, there is a dark universe where Batman goes down an evil path after the death of his son, and Gotham’s destruction- like with Clark.
That's...actually the subject of the Dark Multiverse and the story arc of Dark Knights: Metal. The Dark Knights are evil versions of Batman corresponding to different members of the Justice League who hail from the Dark Multiverse, worlds that are doomed to be destroyed.
I always wondered if Injustice could've been prevented if Batman killed Joker. But I don't mean a long time ago, I mean when Superman breaks into Arkham at the beginning of the story. If Batman realized what Superman was about to do and the only way he could stop it is by killing the Joker before Superman can. I feel like he would cross that line to stop the most powerful man on the planet from crossing it.
You find out that only Beast Boy and Kid Flash were killed in Metropolis. Superboy, Starfire, and Red Robin were sent to the Negative Zone. Superboy was even nearly killed by Superman. Question if Cyborg would have tried to stop Superman from knowing this?
Every time I hear the voices from Injustice, I always think about the Justice League characters or the Teen Titan characters acting out on these scenes.
Life is suffering but it can have meaning which will make life valuable enough to keep it going. Suffering is relative, everyone endures their own hell. You can beat a man, torture him, destroy his most loved possessions and people. He will still live if his life has meaning, his life will be good. People can overcome suffering. Murder ends it all. That is only one reason why murder is the worst sin or crime of all. Take an hour of deep thought and maybe you'll find the other reason.
So I assume that in order to be Robin at this point, Damian would have had to train under Bruce for a while now, right? But he still hasn't gotten the "No Killing" rule drilled into his brain yet? To the point where he asks Batman "isn't killing a good thing, though? :)" like he's never heard of Batman's immovable moral code.

Wonder Woman in bondage. I mean, canonically, it's the whole reason her character was created.
5:27 I'm glad Superman didn't use his super speed to throw away the solar grenade and instead, they both took the time to explain what it does. Despite them both already knowing what it does

Why would *anyone* who really knows Batman think that he would ever change his mind? This is what his whole *life* is about.

I’d say that it’s because this is the timeline, assuming he does that, that he abandoned. It still continues without him, he just makes a new one
Or I guess more accurately, instead of himself going back, the speed sends his memories back. The reason we never see him fail or the timeline continue is because we always follow his memories back to the past

3:09 Don't tell me that wouldn't have killed her in real life.
Well batman the only hero actually using his cape for good lol
I know this is late, but did anyone notice Robin scream from being shot at from Cyborg is Tom Cruise' scream from the Mummy???!!! LOL
So, Diana gets tied with the lasso and it doesn’t make her see the madness of what she’s doing?
The lasso makes you tell the truth aka what you believe. Diana believes in Superman’s cause, so the lasso doesn’t change her mind on it. It would be interesting to see what effect the lasso would have on someone like the Flash on this world

Recall this zinger that Blue Beetle gave him:
BB: "There a line you won't cross?"
Superman: "I don't hurt children."
BB: "Didn't stop you with Shazam."
@@AdderTude imo the worst part of killing shazam isn't the kill itself, but the fact that shazam saved his life from lex luthor's kryptonite cannon not even an hour ago. And he was executed just because he disagreed with invading other universes.

How many things that'd make ordinary humans go splat have we seen in these comics that ordinary humans survive with little harm???
Yeaahhh, Permanent Brain Damage can start to occur After a person has been unconscious for more then 15 minutes so.....
"of all people, I thought you would understand!!" of all people why did Diana think Batman would think this is ok??
Batman didn't give Superman enough of a chance and enough time to grieve. He immediately tied to neutralize him.
