Hi Henry, It's a slight learning curve, but I'm really enjoying the software thus far. For gallery-centric sites that lean into high-res images, do you have any pointers? The 250kb rule is killing me. Thanks!
Thanks for reaching out! For images that you simply cannot get under 250kb or don't want to due to quality reasons, you can manually resolve them here: ruclips.net/video/BTBjGemu3t0/видео.html
Hey Henry! Great video. I have a lot of photos that are in galleries on my Squarespace site, and from researching, it seems as though you can't add alt text to gallery images. However, I do see a space to add a "description" in each image within the gallery - does this description register as alt text? Thanks in advance!
Yeah it can be frustrating - to be honest, I try a couple of times, and if SQSP keeps doing it, I just leave it. It's not going to make or break your/my SEO.
@@h.purchase Thank you mate. Your plugin helps a lot in general. Do you have any experience in why a difference between desktop and a mobile performance is so big? I had a desktop performance 65 and by some basic speed improvements I got it up to 90 but the mobile moved only by about 5 and staying down on 45 and looks like there is nothing I can do. I applied all recommendations. Also I don’t know if thats a squarespace issue but my H2 tag on my home page is the largest contentful paint element and it takes 5000ms to render on mobile and it has literally no edit, so annoying, why is that? Any idea?
@@fotbalista6969 my latest advice can be found below, but it doesn't cover everything you mentioned, as Squarespace is relatively inflexible here! ruclips.net/video/EpLz__YX15g/видео.html
Really helpful mate, great video mate!
Thanks man!

@@h.purchase Great, thank you my man, great work.
Hey Henry! Can you also recommend a size? (not only weight) 2500 px x 1800px?
Thanks man!
Hey Rick - I have a full guide on SQSP image sizing here: www.seospace.co.uk/blog/squarespace-image-size
@@h.purchase Thnx man!
These two things make up about 80% of google rankings. Image size & Alt tags.
Umm, nope. Backlinks are still the most important thing.
Is this plugin free?
Yes, there's a free plan!
