What you can do is just add a launch character node at the end of the timeline, so no need all the boilerplate around maxspeed, etc.. you can can get the player velocity, normalize and then multiply by speed of your choice
At 8:13, the tangents of the time = 0 and time = 1 points may not automatically flatten when you click Auto. To fix this, simply click the points, right click, and select Flatten.
Heya everyone, great tutorial UnrealCG, i tryed implementing it in Unreal 5, I'm currently in timeline 17:57, but i can't see the ribbon in the shape of an arrow, meaning i can't see the effect
Great tutorial, i learned a lot for sure! is there any way to get all the color options inside the niagra system to an option in the blueprint? so i can input the color in the blueprint that all the effects should be? or do i need to create different niagra systems and new materials every time and then change the color for all of them on every emitter individually?
after dashing i notice there is a huge gap between my character and the trail effect. the trail seems to end before it reached the dash destination. how do i fix this ?
I have a question about the "add event handler". I am new to Niagra and it might be something I'm doing wrong, but i simply don't have the "add even handler" button at alll (i am doing this in UE5)... is there any way to add it?
When I plug in the particle color to emissive and the radial gradient to the multiply B and the bottom of particle to multiply A then plug the multiply into the opacity mask: I don’t get a disk shape. It’s still a sphere shape but with a chunk missing? Doing this in UE5 not sure if that’s the issue? Keep in mind I followed the tutorial until you finished this portion of the effect and thought I missed a step but saw this and my engine isn’t giving me the disk shape after the first steps! Hope you can help but honestly the dashing tutorial was amazing nonetheless but I would love to have this effect in their as well!
Just figured it out if anyone is having trouble! He switches to the cube shape when displaying so if yours look off when in the material: just look in the viewport and see the selection of shapes at the bottom? Click the square/cube!

Initialize ribbon is in inside the "initialize particle". They have combined common parameters together.

This video was great and also very helpful. Plz make a video on sword slash effect.
How could one implement this in UE5? It seems to not work anymore for me.
my character cannot walk after the dash after 11:14 part code i am using UE5.1
Can you do a tutorial on superman heat vision
this is amazing
Why my path material is transparent at start and at end of ribbon? It also moves in all directions like a snake.
great work as alwais
after dashing i notice there is a huge gap between my character and the trail effect. the trail seems to end before it reached the dash destination. how do i fix this ?
It may have to do with the max movement threshold at 15:00

Press the "+ Stage" (near properties) icon and you can add an event handler there.
What if my character is sliding? how do I fix that?
just keep watching the video, he is going to add a stop movement node.
@@CrackedTurkey yea I did sorry this is really old
@@romdog1315 no problem

You have the enable in the view options engine contents
25:41
Any idea how this could be modified to be able to launch the player into the air if they are facing upwards? Thanks
Reminds me of Ciri's dash ability from The Witcher 3
