Becoz that subaru is a real monster who uses his abilities perfectly. And is probably the most expert at it(by himself excluding Greed IF).
Tbf, Kang Lim has knowledge of future events and doesn't have to be necessarily die to reset, he just need to reach "game over" to restart. On the contrary, Subaru's RBD is better since he can go back in time anytime he wants by just offing himself. Kang Lim challange stems from the "Author" who won't let him stray too far from the original route and his unfair checkpoints. Both Kang Lim and Subaru are awesome characters though.
