I saw a ground up restoration on a rusty Miura. The structure is much more like an airplane. There are lots of bent sheet metal z and l channel tack welded. The body person was very skilled. This car was not designed to be driven in slush and snow. One of my favorite 60’s cars.

A wonderful drive from the Audrain, down Bellevue Ave, along Ocean Drive, past the Newport Country Club, and rounding Brenton Point. Couldn’t think of a sexier car to do it in than an orange Miura. Grazie Signore Osborne.

A+ grade for photos of the chassis! I haven't seen those before. Keep the tech coming. Rev it up a little more next time. Your irrepressible grin is infectious and one of my favorite aspects of your videos. Find some excuse to bring back David Donohue.I do like the way you show how just driving around normally is special in these cars.

Thanks! The Miura has to be my favorite. I have fond memories of driving one in anger on an urban Texas highway, in the late '70s. The other cars on the road that day were used as pylons.

Donald . How you managed to stop yourself from gunning this piece of mechanical magnificence , and sculptural beauty is beyond me ! I implore you to view Iain Tyrell's Workshop on you tube. He is unquestionably THE world's foremost afficinado on Lamborghini and drove the "ltalian Job" example to ltaly to meet Marcello Gandini (may need confirmation ) with whom he has met a number of times and they get on well . Donald , have l somehow missed the Concours ? Always love your presentations . Thankyou .

The Miura has been my all time favorite sports car since I was 13 years-old and saw it on the cover of Road & Track magazine. Back then I had an HO slot car of one. I’ve seen them at Concours and I have Joe Sackey’s book, The Miura Bible but alas, have never owned or even ridden in one. I know they’re not perfect cars, I see them as akin to a Frank Lloyd Wright home. Flawed but who cares? My favorite is the Miura S. The SV might be better but the frivolity of those eyelashes is just too cool to pass up. Marcelo Gandini said his only regret in the design is how the narrow track of the front wheels cause them to be so far inside the wheel arches. Said there was nothing he could do about it as the chassis was already designed and production ready when he was charged with draping a body over it. Otherwise, it’s perfect.

Great job as usual Donald, love your videos. Wonderful not hearing Jay say "right" constantly also. Possibly the most beautiful car ever designed? Cool to see one with the headlights up. First time I've seen that.

the soprano is generated by the gearbox wine, not the proper engine note. And if you listen carefully Donald, they are in exactly a major third-distance together

I saw a car video with some old guy on the west coast somewhere. He owned a Miura and drove it. What he said was you could drive this car 140 mph all day long without a problem. He also clarified not that there was anyplace you could legally drive it at those speeds, Just that the car itself could do it. Think about that, cruising at 140.

Four carbs, not 6. There are 4 triple-choke Webers. Great video, but if you actually want to hear one being driven a bit more aggressively, you can view some of my videos of me driving my 1967 Miura.

A Datsun 240Z is just as "Analog" just as Beautiful, just as 70's. Both are REAL "SPORTS CARS"
Come on...the only thing I would add to this video. Is Jay Leno catching up and passing you in his Muira!!!!

The driver /actor at the start of the Italian job couldn't drive the Lamborghini properly.
He want used to the manual gearbox, so they changed the speed of the film to give the perspection of him driving faster than he actually was doing.

It’s obvious you don’t know much about the Miura. You claimed you loved early models. They all are not good cars. But the earlier cars were poorly designed with the Transaxle and Engine sharing the same oil. Well about everyone knows that would destroy both engine and transaxle as the engines back then typically used 30 wt motor oil, and rear ends or transaxle used 90 wt gear oil which is very heavy. The LP400 & LP400S still had this terrible problem. The LP400SV, Lamborghini finally separated the two, and at least solved that major issue. Only a builder of Tractors could come up building the two components together. If you have any knowledge regarding price, you will see the SV usually is approximately 3 times more than its predecessors. I think you would be more suited to narrate the Lamborghini Tractors of the day. The Lamborghini Dealer in Ft. Lauderdale actually has one restored to new condition. Also Lamborghini totally stayed away from racing as he knew his cars could never finish a race without a breakdown. Even in test years ago, Road & Track claimed they could not even finish a Road Test because of a breakdown. They were, and are beautiful cars, but just not reliable to drive without a Rollback following.

Not a fan of Miura's styling at all. I prefer its predecessor (350 GT/ 400 GT) much better.
