About the Warhammer 3 ai being passive. That wasn't the case on launch and the ai was actually more aggressive than it was in previous games and the community didn't like it so they toned it down to manageable levels.
@@2009VandA they just should leave this as option in campaign settings, if u want agressive ai or not, i prefer yes, cuz WH3 its really easy game and AI is completely stupid, like i really wants better and more smart ai in all TW games, but well thats not gonna happen propably, atleast theres awesome mods for ai like hecleas ai mod.
And I finished two weeks ago with Ramses III. It was fun to become the pharaoh and then conquer and enslave the whole map. Now I'm excited to see how Troia plays out in Pharaoh.
This is a great giant step in the right direction. I personally hope that their next title, or maybe a surprise DLC would either be the Fall of Assyria, or the rise of Cyrus the Great, with a map that spans from the Indus to the Danube. The Nile, to the Volga.
Yeah these dev diaries are actually getting me hyped about PHARAOH, which I wouldn't have previously thought possible! I really like the blend of going over the history alongside the faction mechanics, you can really feel like passion and inspiration from the Sofia devs. This is the first time in a long time that I'm actually excited about historical TW.
Yes. Kidna crazy that we got Iron Age Cavalry, horse archers and INCEST but Amazons or even female generals for Tausret's faction was beyond the pale 😂. RIP dommy mommy Penthesilea.
there are numerous problems i have encountered that i hope they fix, legitimacy is broken, the pillars of civilization collapse by turn 8, 15 different factions declaring war on you on the same turn on turn 10, Ai reinforcements get stuck when they spawn in, and the sea peoples no longer feel like a threat, and the random events repeat over and over again
Nailed it but I disagree on the AI Aggressiveness. I personally enjoy it. Pre-patch they were so passive that it sucked all the fun out of the game, especially when the Sea People showed up.
im a huge bronze age nerd, been reading on it since middle school and I who loved pharaoh on its first release am so thrilled and cant wait for next week!
Hi! Did they say if we are going to get more visual variety of generals? I saw all videos and I already saw 4 dudes that looked the same. I wouldn't like to have a kid that looks like a random of another faction.
Honestly the game should release in chapters like Rome 2 & name it as TW: Bronze Age with Troy as 1st chapter, Ascension of Pharaoh as 2nd & so on. Trust it's more tempting that way.
CA Sofia seems like they are really talented, inspired, and much more in touch with reality with what TW players want to see. It's unfortunate that they are led by the Horsham HYENAS. I might actually get this game now (it's the only TW I don't own.)
Hope to see a big addition to the custom battle maps selection but I really hope we start to see a difference with the killing animations too. The Blood DLC felt like a scam without the Hecleas animation mod.
They said they will add all the kill animations that currently only generals have to all regular units/soldiers too, so everybody will have kill animations then.
You can rename your generals so if you make your sons generals I guess you can rename them, daughters probably can't be renamed. Renaming factions currently isn't possible unless you make a mod for it.
The cynic in me thought this too, but you still have to buy the original Pharaoh (and see its reviews) to play Dynasties so they aren't really getting around it.

Well It was at the launch of immortal empires but they have since adjusted it over time with patches it’s not perfect some like it at its current point some don’t it’s a frequent hot topic to see discussions on.
7:10, u mean units as their armies which they have on maps, or units as recruitable ? cuz it would be really cool if CA finally would add a option to recruit faction units which u confederate so for example if i as achilles confederate ajax, i can recruit his faction units, including elites/special units, that would be reeeeeeeally cool, especially as just a option in campaign settings, but those campaign settings should be added for COOP too, cuz as game is really nice for single player, then for coop its much less enjoyable without those settings, like if they make coop, then can they just make this coop complete ? cuz in almost any TW i play in coop (and i love play with my friends cuz im not solo player) then i feel like its a game with less content and fun.
Definitely play one of the minor factions in the corner of the map like Memnon down south or the Elamites to the east so you can learn the game relatively safely.
@@lp4514 yea propably stealed from this mod x D But yeah thats cool, but would be even cooler that they will add diomedes, aeneas and menelaos as playable minor factions, and all units from troy, ofc this normal ones not cyclops etc. And more major faction with their unical mechanics, for example Thrace should get one with Rhesus.
@@SuiSideex That mod just used the animations that were already in Pharaoh but so far are only used by generals and gave them to all units and he imported some animations from Troy, but he didn't create any new animations himself. And for the other factions you want or units from Troy, CA won't add them at this point, they said there won't be any new content and even if the update does well and they decide to do 1-2 more DLC's it will be new content and not minor stuff like make Rhesus a major faction or more units from Troy. The only way to get both is either you find a modder that does it for you or learn modding yourself, which actually isn't that difficult and once you can do it it's great to be able to make all the changes you want yourself (at least if it's easy stuff like what you want, some things are more complicated). Also major factions don't really have any special unique mechanics that minor factions don't have, both will play more or less the same.
I am guessing the reason you can not make more females heir era is do time restraints and money like the animation. Yes it very unlikely a female would become pharaoh again, but it was not impossible. Given player more option and flavor Did they mention anything about heirs or general able to become as strong stat line wise as legendary character?
In Pharaoh legendary characters aren't really stronger than regular generals. And I also think they probably had plans to add a few female generals (they chose Tausret as a faction so that shows they're open to that idea) but probably didn't have the time or money.
This looks freaking fantastic compared to launch. The only thing that bothers me is that it's a completely separate entity not tied to the main game. Being stand alone feels weird.
Warhammer 3's AI was and in some cases still is way to aggressive. They have toned it down with updates but the overly aggressive AI is still one of the major complaints about legendary difficulty. Legendary Malachi on the Realms of Chaos is a virtually impossible campaign due to it.
Interesting. This sounds like one of those situations where it's great to be wrong lol. I enjoy a cutthroat, aggressive AI much more than a passive one, so I'm glad to hear WH3 has it.
@happycompy eh, this was stupid cutthroat. Like if the AI knew of your existence, it would declare war on you from the opposite side of the map and travel through enemy territory just to get you.

My question is, how the hell they didn't fired the people who are making such poor design decisions and doing so badly ai programming? I know, as long you have some one paying, they will keep throwing poop on you, and since total war is pratically a monopoly without any concurrent in the same specific niche, we can't expect something better, but always a "reskin" and risk aversion game design poor decisions.
