    No mention of Keystone Bridge Co. and Andrew Carnegie that financed the bridge and promoted the bridge (elephant that crossed the bridge) the bridge became a seminal project in Carnegie's fortune.

      It's possible given the overlap in time periods, but there's not documented evidence that they knew each other that we know of. But given the small population of St. Louis back then and their prominent positions within the community, it's possible.
