I am getting ready to flip the washers and clean the bellows and check the brake pads on my 1506 4 track that I've owned since about 1989. Love these machines, some of the best ever made. Again, thanks for the video.

Good video but the music is a tad too loud.

What effect does damaged bellows do to the reel to reel? Anyone know?
    Thank you

IF the tape rollers are bouncing on fast wind its often a symptom. if the bellows are bad the tape stops because tension is not maintained. If the reels stop between play and FF or RR or you have to manually put tension on the reels to get the tape started its likely bellows. IF the bellows are totally not functioning the tape will start to play then stop. ALTHOUGH it can also be something else but visually check the bellows first. When the bellows fail it is either a crack in the bellows itself usually around the seam on the top or bottom around the plates or its the valve - which can be flipped over often that solves the problem - cheers

I would love to find someone in London who could service my RS1506. ?

thanks for the note. Tapeheads.net may be a place for some info. It is hard to find someone for R2R servicing. London should have some reel techs I am thinking maybe some more digging. I am good at taking these apart and farming out parts. I have two RS Technics and had to fix the bellow/ brake issue myself from trial and error and other youtube vids.

Not sure what you mean by completely broken. But with one of the bellows not working and the brakes not working well. The machine would stop between play rewind FF etc...and the tape would go slack and unravel. Yes for sure unusable and potentially could cause tapes to break because there was nothing to stop the tension arm from triggering the micro switch. Everything else on the machine was functioning properly.
