- We cut open the head of two golf drivers to see how they are made. It was a fun and dangerous task
One is a TaylorMade Super Fast Burner 2.0 10.5 loft. The other one is a USKIDS Tour Series V10 titanium left hand driver.

We used these for years and then we bought new ones and the golf shop would only buy them back for $20 each so we decided for that much money it would be better to cut them open. Enjoy!

+Luke Natale im 12 and I play junior golf too and one 10 year old I know hits it 200 yards and i hit it 250 he averagely shoots even par we are pretty competitive but short game wins tournaments!
I'm 13 and I am obsessed with golf. I can drive it about 270 yards and my best score is 79 on a par 72. This round included a double bogey and a three put for bogey.
I'm the same but with tennis and 14
Luke Natale I was the same when I was your age. I only got my handicap when I was 11 and now I'm off 11 after a year and a half. Your game will improve if you keep trying.

I actually cut open my driver head and it had foam inside it. They are not all hollow

pls tell if the hole into the driver cavity went straight thru into hollow area ...or did it have a sealed shaft well ??.... reason being is that I want to make my driver quieter by inserting cotton or cloth or foam padding inside... my driver is too loud !!

FYI Dan, I still play that driver. You said it was considered the biggest driver head in golf but a lot of drivers before it and since have been the same size. The rules limit the size and the rule has been the same for a long time.

My guess is the reason they are hollow is so when u make contact the ball has more room to compress into the club so it's launched further out

You like golf and you never new that a driver was hollow. Wow just just wow.
He's referring to the driver being completely hollow, because some drivers have weights inside to improve your shot. This one however, has none. He knows that all drivers have a hollow aspect to it.

So are all newer driver heads made of metal and have they always been made of a hollow metal structure or were they made of wood or other materials in the distant past? So it seem like it’s made on the same principal as aluminium baseball bats which is also hollow inside.. I didn’t think they’d be a solid block of metal or whatever they were made of, but I honestly didn’t think they’d just be a shell with nothing wonderful inside, considering how much they cost.

It been cool if cut it side ways and still had the full face and tried to drive the ball again and see how much distance was lost in the drive.
What I really would like to know is, what's inside his head. He should not be allowed to operate power tools.
A longer shaft in the driver doesn't make it go further. Thats why most pro's go with a shorter shaft in their drivers. Better control while swinging faster and harder.
