That is so true about the CVS carpet! The local CVS where I lived in the 80s had that same horrible carpet! Always dirty, always ripped up, always a mess.

When they took over the Longs Drugs chain in my area in the late 2000’s, out went the clean shiny linoleum floors and in came the wall to wall gray carpeting. It’s such an ugly aesthetic, especially when you remember what the store used to look like.

Hallmark- Everything about this commercial just puts a smile on my face as I watch it, from the various expressions that the baby makes, the cuteness of the card that the woman receives, to the satisfied look on the man’s face in the end.
Dristan- The abrupt ending of this commercial makes it very funny to me.

Gary Hart famously told the press Corps in Washington “if you put a tail on me, you’ll be very bored!”

Firestarter was supposed to be directed by John Carpenter, but the studio got cold feet after his remake of The Thing underperformed. He would get a chance to work on it by doing the music score for the 2022 remake. Unfortunately, while the 84 movie is nothing great, the remake is god awful, except for Carpenter’s score, which honestly belonged in a better movie.

It's barely seen at the end of the ad, but CVS stores in those days also lined their walls with hideous huge billboards for products sold in the stores. A couple of stores I used to go to in northern PA had those well into the 90s.

Oh man Robin's baby. I laughed so hard. Just for the record I wasn't born when the FInal battle aired on NBC. I watched it for the first time when I think the Sci-FI channel aired it.
