Increased bear sightings in Montgomery County: How to keep them at bay

  • In the past week, at least three bear sightings have been reported in Montgomery County -- in the Sligo Creek area of Silver Spring, another near the Northwest Golf course off of Layhill Road, and in Boyds. The sightings are becoming more frequent. Some Maryland wildlife professionals predict that Montgomery County will be the next county to be home to a permanent, breeding population of black bears.

    If you get the attention of a bear, don't try to run from them, they are faster and do this for a living, they'll catch up to you, pull you over, and hand you a whoppin' , a citation, and a trip to jail. 10-4?
