My brother turned me on to Steve back when I was in high school. I had been a rock guitar player up til about the 9th grade. He played Steve’s song called Baby I’m Yours and it blew me away. I’ve been playing country now for around 30 years and I’ve made some good money and had the chance to meet and play with some very great players over the years and I feel like I kinda owe it all to Mr. Wariner. It’s nice to know he’s a humble human. Until he straps the Telecaster on. Then he’s anything BUT human.

i have known Steve since the Indianapolis days . we had both worked with alot of local bands and musicians. his dad was an awesome guy ,and Steve and his whole family are very down to earth and humble folks. I havent had much of a chance to speak with him in quite a while due to losing touch with him as well as my health wont let me out much , but folks back here like Joe Jackson and myself are so proud of Steve and his all around accomplishments and generosity to beginning musicians and song writers. Noblesville and Indianapolis and Russell Springs Kentucky and Nashville all are proud of our friend and family Steve Wariner

Wow, being an Indianapolis boy myself now living south of Nashville I've always wanted to meet the personal side of Steve and the long road that took him where he is today. Funny that back in the mid-80's I was driving an oil truck in Noblesville and when Steve's music would come on WFMS, I'm like yeah home town boy made it big time. What I never knew was his connection to Dottie West (cousin) and Larry Gatlin, Kenny Rogers and that whole clan. This was the period when country was great. I did not want this interview to end because I was ready to sit another 3-hours just listening to Steve's stories and hear him play. Also glad to see Steve's son is also in the business which I didn't know until now. I got a laugh about Dottie's Ovation getting smashed which ironically I also have Ovation Celebrity CC-44 blue quilt top which I would be devastated if anything happened to it which is strange as I am a piano guy, not a guitar guy but I still have one which is always within arms reach. Just wish I could play it like Steve does. I hope there will be more stories and interviews with Steve and maybe too some collaborations between Steve and his son together.

This guy used to pal around with Jerry and Chet. I saw Steve perform at a fair in Mobile, Alabama in 1995. All I knew before seeing him live was that he was a great singer. I realized then that he was an even better guitar player. In 1996 or 1997 I was able to meet him at a Media Play store in Goodlettsville, TN. He was singing copies of his Burning The Roadhouse Down CD. He actually remembered playing at the fair in Mobile because he remembered the minor league baseball team there- The Mobile Bay Sharks. Pretty cool

I was backstage at a show with Steve and huey lewis. I was a uniformed state trooper there for security. Steve came out of a room and saw me, walked over and introduced himself and we talked several minutes, just talking. Such a nice, unassuming guy. And a pretty fair picker, but probably needs some lessons 😊

Steve is the epitome of a White European gentleman. I've seen him perform live several times and always a class act. I enjoyed him performing back when his brother was his backup singer.......pure voice, excellent musician.
I also enjoyed him playing with Glen Campbell. Wow!
