- No cell service, steep cliffs, winding roads, deep silence, and incredible views. Recently visited the best section of the Pacific Coast Highway in Big Sur to scout locations for a potential project. You've probably already seen these views in a number of different car commercials. Its spectacular in person. One of the best road trips you can take. Its about midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Big Sur is a rugged stretch of California’s central coast between Carmel and San Simeon. Bordered to the east by the Santa Lucia Mountains and the west by the Pacific Ocean, it’s traversed by narrow, 2-lane State Route 1, known for winding turns, seaside cliffs and views of the often-misty coastline. The sparsely populated region has numerous state parks for hiking, camping and beachcombing.

Reminds me of road trips through the entire western US with my old man when I was a kid
I did the same route with my wife and three kids just a couple of weeks after the road reopened back in 2018. This was the final leg down to LA of a 4 week western adventure. Love your videos and they bring back some great memories. Greetings from The Netherlands!
Out of interest why was the road closed? Was it due to bad weather?

Thanks Emix. For those not following the border closures, its pretty difficult (even for business purposes) to get into most countries right now. Sort of surprising that its still the case. 2020 was supposed to be a lot of travel in Europe. I was thinking for sure this summer would be open but I'm reading about continuing closures.

it be cool if they could do a 180 but i dont think thats possible. doing a 360 means we see inside their car and them, and we dont know if thats what they want but that is a great idea!
