Loving the various animations you put into the text, like the source being drained from the elf and the teleport effects.
Edit: Did this madman actually take the time to animate the shadows and the light effects at 0:32? When the "Messy" letters fall on the lizard, the lizard's head casts a shadow on the *, and the flash of light includes the S as well...

...also I'm totally going to have various textual effects based on what sort of magic is being used in the scene. Heat haze for fire. Lightning arcs when someone is using electrical spells, etc.
Basically the same as I did for the pews in first person shooters. Yet with more range.

If any group could prove that the authorities of the world in this game were right to outlaw magic, it'd be ZF.
Thing is, it's just Source magic. Everybody can use regular magic.
But yeah, these are possibly the worst heroes ever.
@@TheGuardDuck normal magic uses source indirectly, source magic just uses it directly. Difference between a firecracker and a Roman candle

@@TheGuardDuck normal magic draws on the diluted source combined with other energies found in the ambient energy field of the world and isn't interesting or appealing to voidwoken, sourcerors just fuckin yoink raw source from the dead and other things and use it directly which is very, very noticeable and appealing to the voidwoken.

I love the additional voice acting for the game characters.

9:03 poor soviet is constantly exposed to dog abuse in tons of games and now he was pressured into doing it himself
Double sad, thinking that the dogs are purely innocent and you are able to talk to them, with a skill, where the puppy explicitly tells you to keep him in the cage.

He could have avoided it had he spec'd differently, if he loves animals so much, why wouldn't he get the skill that allows you talk to them?
8:35 Quebec luring Soviet into slaughtering an innocent dog is one of the coldest betrayal in the ZF history of betrayals. You got my sympathy.
You actually don’t need to kill any of the dogs
You do need pet pal though
Soviet took that trait on a later playthrough and discovered all this. He needed some of the NPC speeches for editing
@@shaunhayes3072 pet pal is a trait that seems pretty useless/niche, as most traits don’t really do much else than a combat boost (social, stealth, physical, magical), most other games use ‘talk to animal’ abilities as a recruit some random dog that dies 10s into combat or a turn enemy type: beast, but it is one of, if not the most, important trait in the game as it completely changes a play through.
That dog in particular was being experimented on to crave human flesh, much to the dogs dismay. Perhaps it was for the best he was put down.
@@thepile4850 I though it was a source hunter dog in training, which is why it attack you, cause you’re a sourcerer (I will never get used to that spelling)
9:00 the sole reason to take “Animal Speak” skill every time. It lets you speak to the dog and befriend him.

The game is pretty lenient when it comes to murdering everything that moves and still being able to finish it. Perfect for ZF, I suppose.
Soviet moly-ing himself while trying to set a *sleeping man* on fire is impeccable ZF nades energy.
I'm by no means an editing expert, but I loved the small details with the text. The comedic flow and pacing has really improved with this one, you kept it engaging despite being a third-person view, well done! I do think the ending is a little abrupt, but it's not a turn-off at all!
You must be somewhat new (welcome) but Soviet is kinda known for his incredibly well done text-focused editing skills
Yeah, Womble’s big thing is that he edits text really detailed. Often frame by frame, if I recall correctly.

Her intro isn’t great at all, but I like her overall character and story.
It's a bit off-putting, but if you're playing the clearly superior lizards, it actually makes total sense.

This playthrough is actually from back as far as early 2018 and he's only gotten around to making a bullshittery out of it now.
He's done multiple playthroughs of the game since, mostly with the same group. Always been a great time ~

@@Lucas-wj8kl Yes... and no. Twitch doesn't store vids after 2 months. There are archives used by Soviet and third parties, but I don't remember where exactly.

If you haven't noticed the text wobbles with the character frame by frame, really shows the effort Soviet puts in his videos

When you have the trait that allows you to talk to animals, it turns out the caged dog Womble kills is the one another dog outside searches, his girlfriend or something, he tells you about his missing friend and gives you a quest to rescue her.

*spoiler*
The Dog the other one outside searches for is named "Emmi" and is one of the four guard dogs that attack you. The magisters train their dogs to attack humans by feeding them human remains, the one in the cage has developed a lust for human flesh and asks you to kill it to end its misery.

@@bigben01985 Yeah, the dog outside wants you to search for his friend called Emmi, and one of the four dogs that guard that room is called Emmi. Sadly, even though having the trait that lets one speak to animals, I wasn't able to find a way to save her as the dogs attacked me on sight.
Ya know, watching Soviet and his pals is like watching Red Dwarf. Sometimes it's rather serious but at it's heart, it's just a comedy about bumbling smegheads bumming around space.

No idea if you know this Womble, but you can learn to talk to animals in this game. This actually opens up a lot of quests and opportunities and you can befriend nearly any animal.
he did read all the talents while creating his character, he just didn't care. Also this content is way to old, like 3 years or more old...good ol' womble.

Fun fact the dogs in the dungeon can be spared If you have the skill to talk with animals and have met the dog in front the elf cave. It is its own quest.

plottwist: if you have the perk pet pal then you can speak to the dog and it will tell you that they fed him some strange flesh that makes him to want to attack people which while he dont like that he cant resist the urge. Poor puppy
And ZF walks out of the dungeon, leaving Womble to die scared, hungry, and alone, having never felt the touch of a woman. Rip in peace.
Only in Divinity can you peer pressure your friends into killing a scared dog and still call yourselves the heroes of the story
