Hi Michelle, great video as always. Since I don’t have a Revair hair dryer, I tweak Janet’s routine a slight bit. After braiding my hair in big plaits on wash day, I twist my hair the following day without heat. The plaits aid in stretching my hair somewhat. I have also started praying every time I handle my hair. I believe when we include God in every area of our lives he gives us wisdom and we will see God do amazing things. Thanks, Sis❤
Yes Patrice! So many ways to make the routine work for you. Also, I agree that it’s important to include God in every area of life. Sometimes I forget but I really want to try and be more present with including Him in everything I do
Hi Michelle, I'm considering becoming a straight haired natural and this video really help shade some light on what the process might look like. While I'm just now beginning to watch Janet Davies RUclips videos, I'm trying to navigate where to start. I too have fine natural hair and I may face some of the issues you faced with the twist not holding, etc...But by the grace of God, I will make my first attempt.
hi Pam, no shame in keeping it straight. I am airing more on the side of stretched but I do plan to straighten in December when the challenge is over. I'm sure by then a trim will be in order! I haven't trimmed in over a year
Well it may very well be stretched instead of straight. I guess straight would be more blow drying and flat ironing the hair whereas stretched would not necessarily require any heat. Something you think about!
Great footage on how you are following Janet's routine, Michelle! I can't wait to see the next two week's videos! My hair is doing well, so far and is staying moisturized. My only issue is the same as yours; a lack of definition in my twistouts. But, I am really bought into completing the 3 month regimen with you!
This was really good. Made me think and consider so many thanks! God continue to bless you and give you the desires of your heart. He honors those who diligently, purposefully seek Him, trust Him and place in His care their all. Keep Going and thank you so much!
Thank you for the information. My daughter has fine hair and this video is very informative. Perhaps a foam/mousse will give you the molding u need for the twist out. It's light weight and dries quickly.
hey no for this routine it's not about the styling... following exactly for the challenge is to keep the hair stretched. mousse would cause it to revert. when i go back to my regular regimen i'll use a product that molds
your hair is looking really good, I wished I had started with you but I will follow that plan starting in Nov...I ordered her products, I am al little nervous...having issues with shedding and thinning. Thank you for the lessons, learning alot from you
Did you get the hair growth potion and the shampoo? I would say if you get nothing else, those two are the ones to get for shedding and thinning. I’ve noticed a difference after long term use….get the extra strength growth potion
So if you have low porosity hair, I know I do, after blow drying how do you get the oil to penetrate your hair shaft without wetting it again? Also, exactly how much of a discount do you get on that dryer on Black Friday? I need that dryer!
@Cactus Flower this is incorrect for the purpose in which the oil is being used. Porosity doesn't matter for this. the point of even blowing it out is for maximum stretch. you can't then add water to it. This oil is OK to sit on the hair shaft. It's what's in it that helps the hair to strengthen and it doesn't have to have water added to the hair to do so. I've experienced first hand a nice reduction in breakage doing it this way. i'm following Janet's regimen exactly for a reason
I have low po hair too! the oil penetrates the hair shaft without it being wet. it strengthens the strands. This is exactly how Janet uses it and I notice the same... less breakage. If you add water or a product with water after blowing the hair out, you will effectively undo the blow out. Now, if you are not blowing the hair out and just want to use the oil as a sealant then yes you would wet the hair. But remember this is an experiment based on Janet's regimen. While I appreciate everyone's advice that's being given, I think people are missing the point of why I'm doing what I'm doing
oh and i forgot to mention that when you use coconut oil on your hair as a pre-poo, no water is involved in that either but coconut oil is proven to penetrate the hair shaft the longer it sits on the hair. same principle
@@FineNaturalHairandFaith I think I understand what you're doing but when I use coconut oil to pre-poo I do put it on dry hair but then I put on a plastic cap and by the time I'm done my hair is really kind of wet and I gathered that the oil penetrated in that way. I think we understand what you're doing. The oil that you use is to strengthen and not to necessarily penetrate the hair shaft but the part I'm missing is how can you do this for three months without ever getting the oil sealed in or the water sealed in by oil?
@Cactus Flower I think we're all confused or at least you and I because we're so used to using a leave-in conditioner which is liquid and then sealing it with an oil or a cream or both to keep the moisture in the hair strand. I've only attempted a little blow drying one time in 6 years and that was recently and of course I knew I could not go back and moisturize using water and then oil without my hair reverting so I just simply put a hobo oil on my hair to control fly away. I felt like my hair was not moisturized but that it just had a coating on it that came right off. Moisturizing The Strand is not the point of this experiment but I'm wondering how I can do that long-term unless we don't really need to get or seal the water in the Strand because drying it was certainly evaporate the water. Perhaps we are overdoing it and applying much more than we need, perhaps I just need to use the jojoba oil everyday on my dry strands or perhaps I'm using the wrong oil it should be some other oil to strengthen. It could be that all of the moisturization needed is at shampoo time whether that's 2 weeks 3 weeks or 4 weeks in which case Michelle has chosen every two weeks. So in our Natural State without blow drying, you and I have been dampening the hair a little bit with water midweek or so just to seal that moisture back in again. I know I just wrote a book.🤔

Hi Michelle, maybe flat twists will hold more definition than regular twists. 🤷🏾♀️ Either way your hair is looking luxurious and lustrous! 😍
hey thanks. i actually know how to get definition. the point is to just follow Janet's regimen exactly and point out the differences. but thanks 🙂
I love your hair!!!
thank you!
❤ Love it
This was great information! I'm nutria channel and I'm going and watching a few of your videos!
