Really tempted to write a fic insp'd by this but it's Bubby literally spitting fire about being assigned a partner in his lab and he's ranting to his prototypes n they're all wildly supportive in their tubes. Maybe Coomer starts following him around because he wants to know more about the things Bubby likes to do, his hobbies and the like, just to break the ice a little. Shadowing Bubby. And Bubby shows him all the little finicky things his equipment requires, other than the stuff that's standard for their models, and just, woh. Bubby goes in his tube at least once a week for "maintenance" and spends his nights there while they jailbreak the human need for sleep by testing on his prototypes, so that's when he rants about all this,,, oh gosh now I'm thinking about the gradual falling in love that happens to Bubby, and the comparison between the color of the suspension fluid and Coomer's eyes. One night, Coomer comes down there. Professor Bubby always goes this way every night. He thought the hallway would lead to Bubby's dormitory, and it does, in a way. But instead of the hallway and doors he expects, it's a line of tubes. All containing warped versions of Bubby. They watch him back, and they're excited. The whispers are almost inaudible under the familar sound of Bubby yelling his heart out somewhere nearby. Augh. My heart.
Came back to comment that the lil comments on the whiteboard calling bubby a lil gay ass and such n such really reminds me of like. 4th dimensional beings we can't perceive drawing a circle with us inside and going "dumb idiots get in this circle" or whatever. bubby all throughout the resonance cascade (and everyone else, too) getting all these scribbles drawn around them that only certain folks (benrey, tommy, g-man) can see. "oh boy, here goes another run" "gordon, watch out! explosives" and just little references and the narrative itself being observed by some of the characters inside it.
The amount of times I've rewatched this because it's a comfort video to me is astronomical, I'm serious here.
