Back in WW-1 and -2 they used to say there were no atheists in foxholes. The closer you got to believing your life was over, the more religious you became. Religion is all about faith. Either you have it or you do not. Either you believe it or not. Attend a funeral for a catholic man or women and if you pay attention you cannot help but be inspire by the liturgy of the funeral mass.
What I don't understand about Carlin, Maher and other active religion haters is this: Why do they feel they need to come on TV and profess their disdain for faith. As if anybody gives a shit what they think about that. If they don't believe it, then fine, don't. But save your "mile wide but an inch deep" anti-faith drivel for someone who cares.
Some people like to get screwed, it is this simple. That is why some Romans wrote the bible in the first place. Power, greed and control that is all that matters.
As a little Catholic in catechism class the priest is going on about a virgin birth and I'm thinking to myself......where's the fun in that?
