    You get better results if you peel the green film from behind the the indicators. Under the green film is must clear plastic, so you’ll have more of a vivid blue coming through. To do it, you’ll have to take the cluster apart to get to it.

    • @Justin-mp7zh
      @Justin-mp7zh 3 года назад

      they are solid plastic green pieces behind each separate compartmented instrument panel gauge not a plastic film you can peel off

    My 94 Burb has an intermittent 'no spark no gas' problem. I tried to read the codes and the CHECK ENGINE bulb was burnt out. I had a few read and blue T10 (194) LED bulbs so after watching this I pulled the dash. Then I realized I need the smaller 74/T5 bulbs. Also, on mine the bulbs do not come out of the twist sockets. So I ordered T5 LEDs and both size sockets from Amazon.
    I had to install and then rotate a few times to get the polarity right. The right turn indicator evidently pulled too much current and burnt the circuit. I ended up soldering a wire in to fix it. I got all the warning lights working eventually.
    The T10 illumination LEDs that I got made tiny spots on the dash instead of the light spreading out across the gages. I ended up leaving the stock PC194 bulbs.

    • @BryanJohnson81
      @BryanJohnson81  7 лет назад +6

      I’ve been meaning to do a how to video on how to do that. I’ll get around to it soon hopefully. There is a little process to doing it. First thing, with the engine cool, turn the key on and take a picture of the needle positions. Take the trim piece off, then the clear face, and then pry the needles straight up with a fork or something similar. Turn the key back on and put the new needles on in the same position as in the picture. Don’t put the clear face on yet. You might need to do some adjusting. Take it for a drive and make sure everything reads right. Once everything is good then you can put it all back together. Hope that helped. 👍🏼

    Hey Bryan, just curious I have a 1993 Chevy C1500 Cheyenne and was wondering if these led's would work for me in my truck, and if you know how long do these Led's last? And are the t10 twist locks what I need for my truck? Thank you..

    • @BryanJohnson81
      @BryanJohnson81  7 лет назад

      They will work in your truck also. Don’t cheap out on them though. It’s one of those things that you get what you pay for. Good LED’s will last as long or longer than regular bulbs. When you order them get the T10 with 1/2” sockets.

      What is the standard wattage bulb, and whats the best wattage led to get. Also I notice that there are 2 different size types of twist locks is the 1/2" the big ones, and what size are the smaller ones that are the blinkers, parking brake ect? In 1987, GM in Canada decided to redesign the Chevy Pickup if you watch Dave's Farms video, on the 1987 Chevrolet Pickup. U will see if i'm right. I'm a car youtuber as well.

    where did you get your bulbs? I have a 94 SLE but it doesn't have the rpm gauge for some reason

      @BryanJohnson81  8 лет назад +1

      I got em from eBay. Search for 88-98 led instrument panel lights and a bunch will come up. Get the ones that come with the twist lock already on them.
