But as I'm getting older I've realized that my accent is actually getting thick and it's more noticeable now so I decided to just let it be and not care about it. What I feel happened to salma is that back In the 90s when she launched her acting career in Hollywood there weren't many Latino actors that were actually born in Latin America. So she had to work even harder with her English in order for her to fit in into you know the Hollywood culture from back then, I assumed that even with her talent and her looks, Hollywood executives wouldn't hire her just because of her accent so she had to fake this perfect English accent. But now times have changed and so have Hollywood, it became more diverse and more welcoming to other nationalities, languages, cultures, and even accents! Example of those are Sofia Vergara, Gal Gadot, Javier barden, Penelope Cruz, etc etc. she probably realized that it wasn't necessary to fake that perfect accent anymore (which is very hard to do) and just praise her real accent instead.

I have to say that Jennifer Lopez looks more like Selena and I hate saying that because Jennifer is from Puerto Rico? and maybe this girl is from Mexico ? where Selena was from?or was her heritage, let me say.
