Hey, I was wondering if access has been restored to rumbling bald. Also, do you know if boone and the other nearby crags are good winter spots? I'll be driving from New England in Jan for a month but want to make sure the areas are accessible.
Hi there - Rumbling Bald will likely not be accessible until next climbing season. I'd recommend watching a few videos on the damage to Chimney Rock/Lake Lure for some perspective. As of today, the Grandfather Ranger District of Pisgah NF is still closed. That means you can't climb on 221 or Lost Cove, however, you can climb at Blowing Rock and Grandmother Mtn. Definitely check in again on access issues before you drive down...we got hit HARD!
Wow! Looks so fun
Ya! Rock is amazing too. I think there is a version that eliminates the right feet which would be pretty tough!

Looks more like V6/7 than a solid 7.
Thx for the comment! Don't forget to like and subscribe!
Opening moves are real hard. Can absolutely confirm it's v7 😅
