Dr Jo Venglos (RIP) God bless him, signed Lubo Moravcik as a 32 year old in 1998 & here he is as a 36 year old, for goodness sake, running & dribbling around as if he was ten years younger & making goals for his Celtic team mates against one of Europe's best ever Teams & rest assured Lubo, in the four years we were blessed to have you playing for Celtic Football Club, NOT once did your ever ''disappoint'' any of us & your place as a Celtic legend is & always will be, set in tablets of Celtic stone.

As a lifetime celtic fan there have been occassions on the past when i have been underwelmed by the clubs signings of players or managers,when i heard we had digned lubomir moravcik i said is this the best celtic can do,but after seeing the legend play i was in awe of his ability he should have played for the biggest clubs in the world and he would not have looked out of place i would have loved to have seen lubo in his prime at parkhead but i can honestly say hand on heart he is one of the greatest ever celts to pull on the celtic jersey and you never let anyone down lubo it was an honour to watch you on the pitch

As a Rangers fan, this guy was the best Celtic player I've ever seen.
Henrik wasn't the best in his first season so Lubo stopped 10 in a row.
Shame we only seen him play when he's was 33 and older.

Im Belgian hoops and this game is my first memories from Celtic. I was 9yo and i was the first time we saw Celtic on Belgium TV because Jos Valgaeren was in the team. The athmosphere was incredible and i falling in love of celtic during this game.
every team-mate loved big Joos.....so underated, great defender....... him, Mjallby and Bobo.....the backbone of Martin O'Neills team

That volley from Sutton 🔥 I loved that atmosphere that day, it seemed extra special , up there with the 6-2 game.
Lubo was a star, how he went relatively un noticed untill he was in his 30s is crazy, really crazy.
Far from it mate,,,he was too loyal,,,stayed at St ettiene (when they were a big club) Turned down Marseille when they were at their best and a few other clubs,,,,he was never under the radar.
WHAT A PLAYER!!!!! Honored to have seen him in the flesh. That's the best Celtic team I've seen. So unlucky to go out that year and unlucky in the Valencia game as well. Side note, Sutton's goal. What a hit!!! 😲

@@matthewdaisley9996 I always thought Sutton was underrated with us. He scored some brilliant goals, he helped Larsson score countless goals and he also was a nightmare to every single.defence he played against. He was one of the unsung heroes for me.

Always loved Juve from the Platini and Boniek days. Del Piero was a true artist and seeing Lubo and him on the same pitch was a dream come true. Two absolute ballers. A magical night at Paradise. 🍀
But that was Juve's B team if I remember correct.

Poor bro had to watch at some rough pub in the East end. waiting to pick me up. I got to see a classic. Suttons goal was otherworldly. Guy next to me lifted me up and nearly threw me out the stadium. What a night what a gift 🍀and they don't make players like that o'neill team anymore

Total genius. I loved Lubo.
I was fortunate enough to be there that night, the atmosphere in Celtic Park on any European night is magical but that night really was different. One match I’ll never forget.
I also had the pleasure of bumping into Lubo (and Didier Agatha) more recently, Mr Moravcik is quite a character, very friendly and funny.
And if it wasn't for one of the most blatant dives I've ever seen in the 1st leg by Nicola Amoruso, to win a last minute penalty, this defeat would have put Juventus out of the competition, and we would have qualified for the 2nd phase.
A real shame we didn't progress that year, who knows what may have happened.

Best performance from a player I've ever seen live. Wasn't just the balls in the box. Ran the game for an hour. On the same pitch as nedved and del piero and head and shoulders above everybody that night. Like an old master of his craft showing everybody else hows its done
100 % right ,that game was Moravcik's game ,man of the match without a doubt .I have seen Lubo Moravcik when he was 18 years old playing for FC Nitra back in Czechoslovakia and he was natural football player . It is mindblowing he got more recognition in Scotland than back home in Slovakia .
