    I feel like I‘m on the same path as you are. I was once a huge Roja fan and collector but haven‘t bought a fragrance by Roja Parfums for years now. A few months ago, after 10+ years of passionately being into fragrances, I stumbled upon Henry Jacques and it gave me the same „hush-hush“ vibe that Roja once gave in the early 2010s. I plan on visiting their boutique in France after my 30th birthday this year as well (I live in Germany so that‘s the closest one too) and see what I think of their house with my own eyes. I must admit though, that performance is something that i really value. Roja almost never disappoints in that aspect, so I do hope that there are long lasting and powerful fragrances form HJ as well for the colder months… Also not sure whether I prefer an Oil or Brume because of this. Anyways: Thanks for the review and I am stoked to see more HJ from you!

      That's funny we match up in the age category as well :D What a shame it is to see a house like Roja start to crumble like this. The more you learn about HJ the better things sound. There are powerful perfumes for sure, and the performance is on par with Roja mostly. I have one in my collection called "Igor", a beautiful leather chypre. I'll review it at some point. I also want to go to Paris again to try some of their exclusives and maybe get Nadal nr1. :)

    Thank you for the review. I have this perfume. I really regret it. Nothing ground-breaking for the hefty price. Cartier Pasha Parfum is not very far from it in smell with a fraction of the cost.

    Thank you for your very informative walkthrough. I visited a nearby boutique and was unsure of choosing between Les Brumes and the oils. What made you choose Les Brumes and, if you own any oils, do you find that they project enough for someone else to smell them? Which one would you start a collection with first?

    • @fragranceenjoyer
      @fragranceenjoyer  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Tele, thank you for watching and asking a great question.
      Tell me first which Boutiques you have physical access to? HJ has boutique exclusives and that might affect the ones I can recommend do you. I will include a longer answer in my new video I'm making now(stay tuned), but in general the oiils will stay longer on your skin but project less. The result is that most oils are more intimate(have to get closer to be smelled) and brumes will have an aura around you but won't last more than 6-7 hours, so you'd have to re-spray to get the same effect throughout the day. Some exceptions last longer(depends on composition).
      When it comes choosing how to start your HJ journey it's very and as you can imagine highly personal. Get what you like. They do classical man's fragrances VERY well. I can't answer this without you telling me what you like and which of HJ's you tried?
      My HJ journey started with Roi Sans Equipage and has expanded since.
      Look forward to the discussion.
      Cheers,
      FE

      @@fragranceenjoyer Hey, thanks for the detailed response! I visited the Harrods location in London tried RSE, Blue Vanille, Siskor, Xantos, Oudh Imperiale, Soudain L’Hiver. In terms of signature notes I enjoy (fougere tobacco, spicy scents) RSE and Blue Vanille stood out.
      HJ manage to craft their fragrances so well that their notes are not as important in the big picture, unlike other designer fragrances. This made perfumes that I neglected based solely on notes become very pleasant once smelled in store for the first time (Soudain L’Hiver, Siskor). Note that I haven’t smelled any musk oil, or Nadal’s fragrance yet
      I appreciate the insight on the oils being more intimate yet lasting longer. I am used to spraying, so there is a comfort aspect that draws me to Les Brumes (better sillage). But smelling the more complex and rich oil version makes me prefer starting out with that. The problem is that I wouldn’t start there if the oil has a very weak projection. Still yet to decide on that.
      Looking forward to your upcoming video

    Fantastic video!! One question about the Roja changes - in your Isola Blu vs Oligarch review 10 months ago, you pointed out a lot of improvements Roja had made with the new Isola Blu bottle design vs the old Oligarch bottle. Besides the removal of the gold leaf “Roja” on the side, what’s been bothering you so much about the packaging and marketing?

    • @fragranceenjoyer
      @fragranceenjoyer  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Zach, thank you. I believe I mentioned that the packaging safety is better, I prefer the Oligarch name, design and fragrance. I'll cover it a bit more in my next review
