- We don't have Pierre Guillaume fragrance's in Australia. So Pierre's work is a recent discovery for me; occurring on my trip to Paris in March 2023....since then it's been a joy unboxing the incredible and diverse collection that is Pierre Guillaume Parfums.
In October 2023, I was in Cannes and reached out to Pierre with the hope of visiting him in Clermont-Ferrand....he said "yes!" Welcome to this grand experience!

Wow, just wow! Marcelo, the team and you - you're all stars! I haven't gotten a Pierre Guillaume in my collection yet but I think I will start with Tonka Bodykon now. This video has been a treasure trove of information and yes we have a lot of content creators doing similar experiences but the way you present it - it's just pure magic. Love it! Yes, I too want to acknowledge my team. They're incredible. From Sandra (my camera woman extraordinaire) to my editor Grace and her wonderful creativity and spark that she infused into this production. In the office I speak in 'sound effect noises' and cinematic visual references to give my team the direction that I want to go....I love it when they catch the vision and then bring their creative touch to the project; such a brilliant experience!
And then there's Pierre! For his generosity and willingness to open up his business and allow me the time to explore this "like a kid in a candy shop!" Was such a fun experience for me😎

Yes, it was a big trip from Cannes; there's no direct train to the area😕 so it was an early morning train and drive experience....but hey that was part of the fun!🎉 (especially when you get distracted and miss your turn off and have to drive 15Km just to do a U Turn😑)....good memories though💫

🥰 As a former chemical engineering student, your time in the lab 14:37 made me so happy! I am very curious about how they determine the concentrations and molecular weights of the different components of the perfume. Are base notes heavier or more concentrated than the top notes, for example?

Vow! This was super cool! Someone letting their secret formula in the open, just shows the trust and mutual respect for the passion both of you have for perfumery. I do not have the Tonka, I have IRIS Oriental and it is very unique
Yes, I was so shocked when Pierre put the formula in front of me😳 I couldn't believe that he would trust so confidently something so important! But like I said in this episode, the good news is I had no idea what it all meant😬
I haven't had the chance to test out IRIS Oriental, so will need to check this one out💫 (there are so many!!). If you get the chance to test out Tonka Bodykon I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on it.

Very interesting series and it’s always great to hear how the perfumer talks about his creations. I have a few samples from Pierre-Guillaume, not something that impressed me. But after this video I’m curious to try more perfumes from this brand

I really wanted to see what else was in that cupboard! This was a lot of fun. Plus it was cool hanging out and making a perfume alongside Pierre😎 (forget about it)
Marcelo: Were you using a spork to weigh the ingredients for your edp? Please keep your current day job. I don’t think Pierre can afford to have you work for him. His company needs to make more than one or two bottles per day just to cover expenses. Where’s his finance guy or gal? Seriously, another groundbreaking video in every way. The travelogue conclusion transported me virtually back to France, especially the restaurant scene.

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Just watched that video, and was in Palm Springs around the time you made it. Anyway, thank you for introducing me to Josh Agle’s (Shag’s) art. I just bought one of his shirts online…so cool. Billy the Robot is another artist who channels the 1970s and 1980s sort of the way that Shag channels the 1950s and 1960s.

Our summer here is about 20-30celsuis and its pretty dry
You said that oltremare had an interesting tea note in it and i really love tea i drink different types of tea and loves the smell of em and so i thought it would bring some of my personality. I just love aquatic perfumes in general.
Would love to hear some suggestions from you
PG was at the forefront of perfumery in 2006. If you wanted a gourmand -- and you were in the know -- it was a PG or SL. There'd be no Spyros, Lobb or Kerosene without Pierre. I love the bespoke aesthetic... but then he streamlined it. He trimmed the collection -- Un Crime, Psychotrope, Praline, Tonkamande, Bois Blond, etc. It's a big mistake to disavow such unique fragrances when there's no need. Instead, he's leaned into the .1 remixes. Everyone is commenting that 12.1 Un Crime is a rip of Tobacco Vanille... even though the original Un Crime's release predates the Tom Ford! This is a way your brand image and heritage is cheapened. Pierre seems to love preservation, but he let's them go? Is it about money? He can't sell such beautiful fragrances over another superfluous remix? Or are they simply not cost effective for the company to produce? That's no excuse when they're sinking funds into release after release, and completely saturating their product.

I appreciate the balanced insight into all things PG as per your experience and the questions that you raised; I wish I knew the answers and I wish that I had the chance to experience all the earlier ones that you mentioned; if his current offering is amazing, I can only imagine what these must have been like!

Je suis nouveau chez Pierre Guillaume car nous n'avons pas ses parfums en Australie et d'après ce que j'ai vécu ils sont tous exceptionnels.... certes ceux que j'ai dans ma collection je ne sais pas si ce sont ses créations antérieures ou plus récentes ; même si je possède Tonka Bodykon et que j'adore celui-ci ! Avez-vous eu l'occasion de l'essayer ?
