    I can’t thank you enough. I ordered the heating element for my dryer and set my tablet up on top of the washer next to me. Then I played your video after having watched it a couple times earlier, and you and I together changed my heating element. I would never have thought I could undertake something that dismantled the dryer like this. Your step-by-step instructions were just what I needed. Thanks so much for posting this.

    Thank you! Your help saved me the cost of repairing if not replacing my dryer. It only cost me $70, and that included replacing the belt also. I figured after 16 years, it wouldn’t hurt to replace it too. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

    Fixed my dryer in 2 hours start to finish. That includes cleaning and vacuuming 14 years of dust and lint out of it as well. Only cost me $70. Thanks for the easy and straightforward step by step guide.

    Thank you so much for this video. It saved me from getting a new dryer. The heating element replacement was easy enough. My issue was getting the backplate for the console seperated from the front assembly. (A screw was embedded to the sheet metal). I found it much easier to just disconnect the wiring from the console and taking out the backplate and the front as one piece.
    Thank you for your time in helping us weekend warriors.

    Thank you so much!!! People like you are a gem. I appreciate you taking the time and being so thorough. This allowed me to replace a little $13 piece (Amazon) on the heating unit instead of the whole heating unit, much less the whole dryer!

    D80, D85, D90 errors on flow tests. I got those error messages on the flow test with a brand new LG dryer like this. I had stumbled across someone posting having a problem with a new LG dryer having the heating element out of alignment in the unit and causing these error messages. After running the test with it completely disconnected from the household dryer vent pipes, I decided to open it up and see if my unit had the heater unit misaligned. This video was very helpful in getting my dryer apart to inspect the alignment of the dryer unit. It was off, having fallen a little over 1 inch out of alignment. This allowed the unit to scavenge air from around the heater unit instead of through the heater unit. I installed it correctly and bent the retainer tab properly into place and it works properly now for the first time since the unit was new!
    Thank you for this video. It was well shot and easy to follow.

    Fantastic. I actually needed to know how to get into the dryer to clean all the lint out (though the heating element is honestly probably the problem since it doesn't dry at all), and this tells me how to do both. Makes it look so easy.

    Excellent tutorial and I would have not figured out the sequence by myself. I had to make a change in the sequence in that I needed to lean back the front panel before I could disconnect the door switch harness because that connector was a locking connector on my machine and I needed better access to disconnect it

    My dryer is heating, but will trigger the breaker outside on any heat level, except no heat (air dry).
    A 20 month old lg DLEX4370W. For a while, it would finish a load on Low heat, but now not even on Ultra Low :(
    Could it be the heat sensor, the heating element (even though there's heat for the short time it runs), or the breaker itself?
    Something else... please help provide most likely reason - lightly used high end dryer causing problems at a young age.

    Question : The dryer heats up but keep tripping the breaker I discovered on the plug that you insert into the Elect. Outlet one of the prong next to the Ground prong charred and the coating of the prong burnt off as if a short exist in the dryer. or could it be in the cord itself What could be ? any idea.

    • @FixDotCom
      @FixDotCom  2 года назад

      It could very well need a new cord as well as the receptacle it plugs into in your home.

      @@FixDotCom I checked the receptacle it is ok I have not installed a new cord but there was a wire attached to the element that was loose cleaned and reconnected it however it worked and then it tripped the breaker again maybe I should replace the element .

    The design engineers that changed the easy access to the heating element need to be kicked in the balls.......repeatedly
    The design of these units is Absolutly an Anti- Right to repair tactic to get people to throw it away and buy new.

  • @mrgimble2
    @mrgimble2 3 года назад +1

    LG evidently wants you to spend far more than is necessary to replace the heating element. The older dryers allow access to the element from the back eliminating the need to tear the whole damn dryer apart! Just Ridiculous!!

  • @kirostar12
    @kirostar12 4 года назад

    You call this an easy job? :) The engineers creating this machine must be really stupid. To replace the heating element, do you actually have to disassemble the whole dryer along with the drum? Wow, this should be the smartest way to make a dryer :). Also, you have to attach the drive belt, blindly without even seeing what you are doing? Congratulations LG you are a really very smart manufacturer ...
    How much easier it will be to design to open the back cover with 4 screws and have access to the whole system without having to remove the drum to replace one heater. Given that it is located at the bottom, it is absolute madness to reach it only from the top cover through the drum and disassemble the entire front panel...
    And this is the work of the man who wants to go to Mars? I just can not believe it :)
