I loved Carmen and her interactions with the family. They're dumb and self deluded, mostly just psychopathic and greedy. She'll insult them to their face, and they take it as a compliment because she's good at echoing their real motivations. Pretty bitter in tone, but it had to be a cat and mouse chase, and if she was scared the whole time, and we weren't waiting to see if she outsmarted them, it would have been boring.
Because in this movie, vampires are not something hereditary, and also vampires are capable of having human children. So Pinochet married and had children, but he didn't bit anyone of them so they're normal humans.
This sounds absolutely amazing...I think this is kind of what I wanted "Night of the Living Queens" to be; just don't have this kind of budget and skill...yet.
I am Chilean and the satire matches the story. Pinochet stole a lot, killed many people and when he was tried by a Spanish judge (juez Garzón) he took refuge in England where Margaret gave him her support. As a Chilean the story is funny, cultural, profound and why not? Maybe this fucking guy is a vampire and he will appear destroying the palace of La Paz in 200 years -as he says in the movie-.
Ill never understand why the British government pulled out all the stops for that old crook. Aside from the immorality of aiding a dictator and mass murderer, he didnt have any value left to anyone.
Because they had businesses with Chile in the times when Pinochet Ruled. Also, Pinochet helped the british in the Falkland islands war, not with military power, but with information, places to keep their plains and ships, any help to brittish soldiers and so on... Margareth Tatcher had a great relationship with him, so naturaly she wanted to return the favor when he requested her help.
Regarding the catholic spy, it is a satire because the church kept many of its properties. The butler was Krasnoff, a CIA torturer sentenced to millions of years in prison for crimes. The foundations they mention, all true, facts.
A character, a Vampire no less, having some issues 'taken care of' - by proxy😎That could be the *black comedy* in itself! *But* had the children seem to have great interest in *bleeding dry* the Father's finances...I loved how you think this was a *mixed bag* - 🤨 I'd watch it, without much understanding, as it's a sharp turn from 'traditional Vampire' personality!😉😊
El conde really is true art and I've seen almost all of the dracula films. The black and white really makes it work the shots on this are one of a kind. I really liked the nun character good vs evil kind of thing.
The other thing is that Pablo Larrain, a pretty cool guy, is from a very well known right wing family of politicians; just like he did with Neruda and No, he tries not bothering the Conservatives "as much"
It seems a little gimmicky-interview with a vampire meets Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter. As if the historical Pinochet is slapped on as an afterthought. I’ll check it out.
i watched it like a hower ago and codent belive what im seing, i think the author was on drugs. but when you look how good the movie is made, you start to fink about if hes series.
Oh man, these two haaaate each other. Lmaooo 🤣🤣 or is that supposed to be part of the act?! Like one is the know-it-all film student and the other is like "nobody cares! Yeah anyway it was just okay for me because I totally missed the point" sorta movie buff? Either way, I live for the shade. 😂❤
Pablo Larraín is a mediocre filmaker, yes the scenes are beautiful but the narrative is really poor. Never forget, Augusto Pinochet saved Chile 🇨🇱 from the claws of communism
Hey Nick! You are saying "Larraín" wrong. You must put the "accent" on the "i", in the last syllable (as if you were saying " Inn”). And of course, don't forget to roll ta fuck outta that double "R".😂😅🤣
Margaret Thatcher as a vampire makes sense
tagline: "in public, she wants your milk; in private? your BLOOD"
She's like Collin Robinson. She has to suck all the positive energy out of everyone in her radius.
I wouldn't be surprised
@@MadailinBurnhopeyou win the innanetsssss 😂😂😂 today❤❤❤❤❤
U guys are clearly very young. Thatcher was such a fantastic leader! Real feminist
Happy September. Thank you for you incredible content!
Thank you!
I think the visual aesthetics and cinematography needs to win an award. What a stellar film 🎥 really. I respect the hell out of this film.

I'm so intrigued by this one
Not the usual vampire movie, seemed like a take on a certain royal family, and Margaret Thatcher,OMG😂😅
Just one question: how he is a vampire and none of his children?? Cause the mother was bitten and turned into a vampire?
Because in this movie, vampires are not something hereditary, and also vampires are capable of having human children. So Pinochet married and had children, but he didn't bit anyone of them so they're normal humans.
Apparently sunlight is ok too
Thatcher is a vampire and Pinochet's mother 😂😂😂😂
I just finished watching this movie. I love the black and white cinematography.
History with a side of the bizarre. I'm down. Thanks guys.
saaaaaaame 😂
Thatcher still being alive?? The brits are definitely not going to like that.
Good review, thanks guys

You'd think so, but no.
We didn’t even get 2 minutes into this before your “I’m so bored” eyebrow raise
I’m here! Yay!❤
Me gusto mucho su resumen y crítica... saludos desde Chile.

This seems like one I would enjoy.
Regarding the catholic spy, it is a satire because the church kept many of its properties. The butler was Krasnoff, a CIA torturer sentenced to millions of years in prison for crimes. The foundations they mention, all true, facts.
This sounds all over the place but interesting

I enjoyed the film very much just don’t get the Thatcher reference. 🤔
This movie sounds crazy, haha.
i loved it. El Conde is pure art!!
El conde really is true art and I've seen almost all of the dracula films. The black and white really makes it work the shots on this are one of a kind. I really liked the nun character good vs evil kind of thing.
I just left LA. I thought about you two handsome fellas
The cómic is Best 😂
I'm worried for Joseph!
Knowing Larrain, I feel like this could be a Nick strongly likes, Joseph dislikes type of movie. Kind of like Blonde.
@Jorge_Lima_ I've only seen Spencer and HATED it
I loved Larraín' s Spencer and Ema. This one does not appeal to me at all but i will watch it though.
The other thing is that Pablo Larrain, a pretty cool guy, is from a very well known right wing family of politicians; just like he did with Neruda and No, he tries not bothering the Conservatives "as much"
25 minutes in I cut it off. Was bored to tears.
