    nice setup and mods. congratulations it looks like a winner. There's lots of videos about the PM-1228VF lathe and by all accounts it a good solid machine.

      Here's my thoughts...it's Chinese. The fit & finish is sub standard to either of my South Bend lathes, will it do more & better work than those 2, yes, will this PM-1228 be around in 80 yrs. Still doing good accurate work, doubt it. The follow & steady rests are a crude joke. Most all Chinese tooling needs work ( sometimes a lot of work) to just get them decent. We have become used to working on brand new machines " right out of the crate " to just get them to function close to what they should already be. It's sad imho.

    Very nice video. I have had this same machine for three years. Where did you get the F N R sticker for the change gear? It appears to have the PM logo on it. Also, did you make a video showing your design. I like what you did. Thanks.
