  • The first place we visited when we arrived in Spain was Moriara and now that it's time to say goodbye it's only fitting that we return to the place where this capture of our lives started.

    26 years ago, Moraira was very similar to how it is now. Moraira f as a little ishing port was many many many years before,. The main difference now since 26 years ago is, the restaurantes Bars and many Shops are more upmarket than they used to be.

      That's really interesting and we presume you have lived there for a very long time. We were shown some photos of the area dated 1997 and the town looked completely different and a fraction of the size. Maybe the photos had the wrong date on them? Thanks for watching and your comment, much love Darren & Alison 🤟♥️

      You're very welcome Paulette. Moraira is beautiful and has many more coves other than Cala Moraig. It's well worth a visit.

      There's a nice mirador called el mirador poble nou. Its near cala moraig. From that point on you have clear view of Calpe, Javea/Xabia etc. Really nice! 😊

      Hi,
      This wasn't our annual vacation, we have lived in Spain for almost 6 years and love to visit all the beautiful places in our region. We have just sold our home, have bought a motorhome and will now be traveling further afield to find the beautiful places of the world.
      Thanks for watching 💜🤟

    I'm from Moraira and I never saw that before, I think it's Cala Moraig, Cala Moraig is from Benitachell and Cala Llobeig Moraira.

      We started at Cala Moraig, with the intention of hiking round the coast to Cala Llobeig, but missed the trail and gave up to spend time in the sea at Cala Moraig. 🤣😂💜🤟

    Oh wow, Moraira (sounds like Mariah) looks absolutely wonderful. That eroded rock and all those cliffs and coves, so stunning - reminds of the Algarve a bit!
    12 euros, yikes! I swear in Spain we rarely saw much by way of high parking prices, if we saw them at all (we didn't consciously avoid them either) so to see parking more expensive than the UK is a bit strange! But sometimes it's absolutely worth it and that place clearly was.
    That said, it did remind us how overnighting in our campervan in Spain was not easy at all by the coast (very easy inland) so maybe that's happening a lot with car parks.
    As always, lovely food again too 😋 Great little vlog and lovely to revisit your first town and restaurant 🤟

    • @findingxanadulife
      @findingxanadulife  9 месяцев назад +1

      Darren often misspells Moraira, but he says he doesn't Carey...🤪
      Expensive parking isn't normally a thing here as the Spanish hate paying at all. You will always find a free carpark full and a paid carpark virtually empty on a normal day, but I guess these places make the most of the tourists who will pay it. It wouldn't have stung so badly if we'd had the whole day there.
      We do love Moraira and have been several times, especially if we crave Fish and Chips, there is a British run fish and chip restaurant called 'Fishy, Fishy', between the beach and the carpark we parked in. They put orange in their coleslaw, which is surprisingly good. 😁 There is a good ice-cream shop near the beach too, called Tutto Frutto. They have great sorbets. 😍 💜🤟

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear 9 месяцев назад

      @@findingxanadulife Oh well, Carey on regardless 🤪 It's impressive you both know how to pronounce everything so well, although I suppose 6 years of living there helps! With us, what I (Dan) find irritating is not that we don't try to learn, because we do, contrary to what our videos may seem like, but that trying to look up an accurate pronunciation of an obscure place is very difficult...and you're never sure if it's correct when you do find it, so tend to shy away from saying it! All part of the fun though, and overseas visitors must think they've entered a fictional world when trying to pronounce some of our towns.
      Amazing that you could get fish and chips - definitely one of the foods we'd miss the most!

      Actually Darren you do say moriara correctly. We have a holiday home here and you say Moriara perfectly well sounding the second R 👍🏼

    Loved this and we love Moraira. Although, it is quite touristy, there is something so relaxed about the town. We love nothing more than a walk around the town in the morning or evening.
    Also, can't believe we have visited Cala Del Moraig several times and yet were oblivious to the stunning Falla Moraig being a few hundred metre walk away. Oh well, next time.
    It looks like you can no longer drive down the hill and park by the beach?

    • @findingxanadulife
      @findingxanadulife  9 месяцев назад

      I'm sure we only found the Falla Moraig as we were looking for the hike to the other coves. 🤣😂 We'll try again at some point.
      It said that the parking at the bottom was just disabled parking. When did you and Sarah last go..?!? 💜🤟

      @@findingxanadulife probably 4-5 years!! Time gets warped by the covid years. We used to drive down and park near the bar by the beach or near the bottom of the hill. I can understand why, as, even out of season it was busy, so guess in summer it would be chaos
