Do it Yourself! AC Infinity Inline Fan Installation

Josh and I change gears from drilling holes in the ground, to making some holes in the walls at my house. Actually, those holes will have registers on them, and tubing connecting them, with an inline fan and noise suppressor somewhere in the middle - all squeezed into a relatively small space above my kitchen cabinets. How did you connect the silencer to the inline fan? Does the silencer cut down the CFM output on the fan? The company is telling me it will reduce suction by 20%. Did you test the fan without the silencer? Does it make that large of a difference?
