Can I just say this helped me so much 😭🙏. The people complaining. Do not know how the basics. And simply this is a START to make HAIR not to how to use blender. Overall I loved this. Yes it took me around a few days to get a better understanding but it was worth it
This video is gonna help me soooooooo much. Finding someone who can model hair is hard as it is and finding someone with a reasonable price as a small income developer is really hard too so this should really help me get the style I've been struggling to get.

I appreciate the voiceover as it allows me to listen as I follow compared to other tutorials (most of them are text so I have to pause and read throughout.) but one thing that kind of bugs me out a bit about your video is the custom framing that blocks and overwhelms some of the corners and sides while you’re demonstrating what you’re doing on Blender, making it appear somewhat small and compressed. Sorry, just a nitpick I have.
This tut was really hard to follow! For example merging and dissolving and fixing the scalp was not easy I’m new so it’s probably on me I’m going to keep trying with this tutorial tho! ❤
This is not step by step because you dont describe every step. Step by step would be saying "im going to do this by pressing this which can be found here" you just say "im going to do this" and do it 🤦

I don’t wanna be annoying, but I keep getting stuck :( there’s so many unexplained things that take me forever to find out how to do else where. I finally got to the point of “turn it into a curve” but I can’t find out how you pulled that up 😭 I would watch a dif tut, like someone said, but there’s none made recently with these updates. I’m running out of options and getting de-motivated. Please help me :( I’m willing to put in the hours, I just can’t find the information
@@ceciliachapman2703 to convert to mesh or curve, you just have to select tge object, then right click and a menu will pop up giving you the option to convert
@@JolinCookieI don’t have a mouse, and control+click isn’t working 😭
@@ceciliachapman2703 ummm im mot sure how to navigate without mouse sorry :(
@@JolinCookieI ended finding it w/o the shortcut but now I’m stuck at 2:32 🥲
You should make a tutorial doing curls ❤
I'm pretty new with blender, and when I press alt+S at 2:40, it just reverts the object back to the original size/spot it was before I scaled it. Ik im doing something wrong i just have no idea what it is 😭your tutorial is super helpful though
@@IncognitoGinger make sure you are clicking alt s in edit mode bc it doesnt different stuff in obj modeee

@@Lil80148 its on my list of tutorials:))
@@JolinCookie tysm
1:30 helpp, i don't have "fill deformed option" as you have from what I can see, and nothing happens when i click eye dropper tool and click on the circle T-T
@@aloj513 make sure you are under bevel and not tapering the object instead
@@JolinCookie thank you!!
My hair strand keeps on turning inside out when i trie to curve it inwards please help 🙏🙏
it could be the end of your normals, if you edit the beginning of the path it'll mess with inverting and such
Hellooo do u have a vedio for begginers??
Ilysm jolin
i love you kimi ex san
my uv layout looks weird and the hair texture doesn't sit right on the hair how do I fix this?
is the strand uv or the texture rotated so its lined up? it should look like lines going up and down or left to right. If its a whole uv of incohesive lines or individual shapes of strands then its a lot harder to fix
Thanks for this! Can you do a tutorial now on how to make more complex hair like curly hair?
@@cherrycoked3 thise are definitely more advanced but they are on my list of ideas for tutorials ^_^
@@JolinCookie awesome!!
Can you make a tutorial on how to mirror symmetrize?🥰 thank you
When i go to merge vertices , nothing happens, what buttons did you press to be able to merge vertices?
make sure the strands are mesh and joined, to merge i click m and then select in the middle or whereever!
Sorry to ask this so late but how do you join them ?
@@lilium8829 uou can right click and select join or ctrl j
this is so good but when i try to duplicate the part it just goes on off its own? like when u did it there was a centre but wasnt one for me
wdymm
@@JolinCookie okay so i did shift+d to dubplicate but it didnt rotate the way u did in video when u duplicated it showed the rotating tool so u could rotate it and adjust it nicely but for me it was just moving all over the place when moving my mouse n when i tried to rotate it it just rotated itself so instead of it going around the head it just went off it idk how to explain really thats best i can do
like the center i mean is around the head so u can rotate it around the charecters head and line it up but it goes off course
@@Grindy0 you have to set the centerer
@@JolinCookie help how😭
Hey, at this point: 6:16 where you scale that duplicated hair so it’s not thin at the end. I tried, and I’ve tried for a while but it doesn’t get thicker. Is it “S” I gotta press?
alt s
@@JolinCookie ye I’ve done that too, but after dragging for 30 seconds nothing happens
@@noraemilie wdym
@@noraemilie it scales based on how far ur cursor moves from the original cursor placement and you click down to apply
@JolinCookie I kept shift + right clicking which caused me to place my 3d cursor
I had to seek out this comment to find the alt+s lol
how are you turning your screen because mine use to be I use the rolly thing on my mouse and hold it down but it no longer works

I was able to make a hair using this tutorial Tysm :3
hii, i love this tut but i hve a question, do yk why when i go to rotate the hair for the back bit, the origin isnt on the first dot, so it wont rotate right
did you move everything over in edit mode first?
