The Manipur name was given only in 17th century during King Pamheiba's reign but it's original name is kangleipak. He made the state religion as Hinduism and exile those who don't embrace it and burn all the religious books return in ancient meitei script. We respect every religion but we want to conserve our identity and culture authentically.
