I disagree. Malaysia's food is way more dynamic, they adopted Indian, Chinese and Malay cuisine into their food culture.
Malaysia has a more dynamic tourism industry, you can go there to enjoy modern luxurious tourism in KL, at the same time their historical tourism is more complete than Philippines, only losing out in Island tourism.
And modern infrastructure is a joke, Malaysia has the best modern infra in the region, even Better than Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
I doubt you're actually been there, or maybe only been to East Malaysia instead of the peninsular.
Where Philippines is clearly ahead is entertainment.

@@qxezwcs it's not the reality Of course, but it's a responsible government's job to at least aim for 0%. It's like death, it comes to everyone, but our doctors and medical staff are pushing to maximize life expectancy because that's just the moral and humane thing to do. In this case To mitigate extreme poverty whenever possible. Poverty will always exist, but extreme poverty, which is the case of so many of our kababayan in the Philippines, doesn't have to. Relative poverty, like the poor people in UK, or Australia, or Japan, or Italy, is great by comparison.. If you only have just enough to eat one meal a day, have proper shelter over your head, pay the electric bills and buy basic medications cleaning toilets, then that's sad, but it's acceptable in the face ofour capitalist world, at least you can keep your head above water... But for 16.6% in the Philippines, we have many who aren't even able to afford the basic rice to eat, live in bamboo shacks by polluted streams with tapped electricity, and end up using herbal remedies and hilot massage because they can't afford to pay the subsidized PhilHealth costs for even basic proceedures. A simple 200 Php meal at Jollibee or McDo is the amount of a daily wage for those who are in the 16.6% below the poverty line, minimum wage isn't taken seriously, local employers are corrupt and pay peanuts for hard work doing long hours. If you are a tricycle driver working all day, hoping for a fare, good luck if you are renting the tricycle you're using and need to pay the cut to the handler, you are left with nothing, what if you have 5 kids because you don't know the meaning of family planning??... That's why you see all those people helping the jeepney drivers to get fares, or those outside 7-11 or ministop "helping" guide drivers to park their cars for like 10 or 20 Php.. it's because there is no safety net and the government isn't serious enough about ending poverty. You want Dominos or Shakeys or Greenwich pizzas? You can only can afford it for a xmas or someone's birthday... Thats your version of a fiesta.. RUclips "Diwalwal", many in our country live like the people there and they're hidden from view, literally any rural barrio or barangay in the bukid is like that.. In the cities and suburban areas, our middle class wages are equal to the worth of just working class wages or welfare in a Western country.. so those urban poor people you see on the TV in the ghettos of NYC, LA, London or Hong Kong, those people have exactly the same purchasing power as us, the "middle classes" of the Philippines, so were barely middle class by any standards.. So can you imagine the living conditions of those even our government consider as poor?? That's why many of us go abroad.. Come on, think, if whatever government of the country you live in didn't vow to eliminate poverty do you think you'd be enjoying the small creature comforts you have now? Are you also Pinoy??

We only need to ease it up so that the local businesses here will become more competitive and give more jobs, but we should not let foreigners to take full control.

I am a Filipino but think Malaysia is 5 years more developed than Philippines. In Malaysia even the street sweeper have their own cars, in the Philippines the street sweepers are among the poorest. I got to ride on a nice car owned by a lorry driver, here typical lorry drivers cannot even own a decent house. My Malaysian boss said that they cannot export to Philippines because there is so many under the table transactions that have to transpire first. That is kind of frustrating for them so they did not continue. It is known that both country had/has a big problem with graft and corruption from their past and present governments, but since the Philippines has a greater population this affect them most.
