Most of this trade talk is wish-casting by journalists & media that want the Spurs to be competitive now instead of staying the course with their rebuild. This current roster (minus some of the fat), our 2025 picks, and a Cam Johnson level signing is a 40+ win team and a year on year improvement. There's no reason to deviate from methodically rebuilding when Fox neither puts the team into championship contention or addresses the teams perimeter shooting woes. Getting Lonzo Ball on the cheap is MUCH better value than "pushing your chips in" on Fox.
If I was the owner of the SPURS I would not make either trade for either guard because they can"t play shut down the other point guard . They can score but give up the same points also. Keep the team the way it is now and do not make any dumb trades that will hurt you later on in the future. Remember when we lost superstar a few years ago and you know who he is .HE plays for the LOS ANGLES CLIPPERS do not make any dumb moves.
Trade your longest tenured veteran, your best perimeter scoring talent, valuable draft capital and Collins for a guard that doesn't address your teams core issues on offence and at best moves you to a first round exit. Horrible idea. I'd rather the Spurs trade for Trae Young (a guard that can shoot and average 11APG) than overpay for Fox.
@ trade for a guy that would definitely be a defensive liability smh common now bruh and I didn’t say I liked the trade. I’m just assuming it would be that kinda package for the kings to let fox go
@@ericespinoza7789 I'm also not big on Trae Young as the long term PG solution in SA (though that "defensive liability" is an All Star that's beaten nearly every elite team in the NBA this season with his playmaking and the defensive core ATL built around him), he's just preferable to Fox. I personally think we should stay the course. Allow what talent we have to develop, draft well in June, grab low investment assets (Lonzo Ball, Cam Johnson etc) and focus on team chemistry and incremental improvement.
Lonzo would be better short term value proposition for the Spurs than Fox. Better passer, defender, 3pt/perimeter scorer and, most importantly, would cost a few second round picks at the most.
Vassel and castle should be untouchable.
nah sochan is untouchable
Fact
But both are not better than fox. So if you gotta move one of them then you do it. Overall the team would instantly e better

I think vassell/Johnson and Collins and a few picks would be shipped to get fox it feels. If it happens I could see castle be moved to SG

Pass trading for keon ellis is better good defender+ cheap contract
Nah the extension is too much for a player like fox, it would eat up far too much salary when sochan & Wemby are due to be paid in 2 seasons time
It wont matter. They will still be able to sign wemby/sochan with fox. Wemby wants to win and will most likely take pay cuts

Nahhh..we need defense, hustle, more so than Fox
trade keldon, sochan, and jones. and one future 1st round pick
Quit begging for him to go to the Spurs
Na we saving up for wemby massive contract so we could secure him
If it takes stephon to get fox… Keep him! Vassell off limits too!
