Brar saab..I’m from Ambarsar. My grandfather and father still say “jinne Lahore ni vekhya ohne kujj ni vekhya” It’s something that I’ve heard a million times. I wish and pray that I get to visit Lahore soon. The city is my family’s birth place.

From Lahore. A restaurant owner and amateur chef. Its a nice recipe. Bro over past 70 + years things have changed in our culinary culture. Now you wont find any chicken with skin on normal shops and whole spices are so expensive restaurant owners wont give whole spices to chefs. Good quality green cardamom (indian) is for Rs.20,000 per kg. I am not exagerating. 50gms for Rs.950 or so. Now tastes are different from past. But belive me i have traveled alot. No one can make better choley and channey in the world than Lahori chefs. We use black pepper and very few whole spices in chaney and give taste with 'yakhani' mostly mutton, sometimes desi chicken. These chanas are not thick and taste amaculate. There must be more than 200 masters of chole or channey in Lahore. Similarly biryani from Karachi is the best. I never had biryani from Hydrabad and Lukhnow therefore my knowledge is limited to what i have taste so far. Always wish to come Delhi, chandigarh for non veg and Hydrabad and Lukhnow for biryani.
