There isn't anything sadder than old Mods ; apart from old Teds. Mod is youthful ;rebellious; vibrant and exciting. You can't carry that off at 50. I couldn't.
You're absolutely right, there's a time when you have to hang up the parka and the hairdo and it's way, way before 50. You end up looking an absolute state trying to hang onto the look.

I know what you mean, although I think if fellas feel like they still have a Mod state of mind and want to continue to dress in a 60s inspired way, they should maybe be looking to Sean Connery’s “Bond” or maybe the early series of “Mad Men” as their inspiration to maintain a 60s aesthetic... I do agree though that the over 40 lot who are still trying to look like The Small Faces or do the Swinging Carnaby thing , do look faintly ridiculous!
I am not a fan of the "older mod look" and Im not a fan of the 79/Jam look either. They look nothing like the 60s mods. My dad was mod in the 60s, he looks nothing like a mod today, except for a Harrington and Desert Boots, hes 73 now, but he will always be a mod, have the mod mindset. The real mods evolved in to other things, just look at Bowie and Bolan. But to each their own!

I have to admit to being somewhat sceptical about such films in the past, but this lady seems to have done a good job.I hope the trailer is a gauge of how good the finished documentary will be. It's also heart warming to see dear friends included in this trailer.

Not sure I get Dave’s idea of a mindset. “Whatever you do you, you just want to do it the best you can” Surely by that line of thought if a Rocker did as best as he could he would therefore be a Mod. A practising Mod understands that the essence of Modernism is effortless cool. Clean living under difficult circumstances was the original and in my opinion better definition.
I'm sick of the sight of Eddie Pilfer. Everything about mod(even Jam docs) he always pops up. I'm a better dressed😉👍🤣

Yeah ok but they intermingle, beside that skin original looked like mods.
Nothing very original about the mod revival. They all look identical...
