East LA has given us such a wonderful gift…Los Lobos. I’ve seen these cats so many times, with many of my loved ones, I owe them so much for the joy they have given me.
My all time fave Los Lobos song. I saw them in Chapel Hill a few years ago and had the chance to meet them after the show. I asked David and Louie about the chord changes, and David closed his eyes and started making the chord shapes with his hand, after which we both recited them. What a moment! I also asked them about the identity of the "Ruby King," to which Louie replied that if they told me they'd have to kill me. All three of us then laughed out loud. It was a great, and treasured, moment with some of my favorite musicians. God bless them all!
