Epiphone Snow Falcon Demo || White Dethklok Guitar!!

- Well this is one of the more unique guitars I've seen in a while. From the minds of Epiphone and the incredibly TALONted Brendon Small, here's a quick demo of the new Epiphone Snow Falcon. Epiphone really committed to the snow theme, from the white, uncovered Burstbucker pickups, to the white gig bag, to the white phenolic fingerboard. Between this and the Brent Hinds signature, the Flying V shape is starting to win me over!
My voice is randomly deeper late into the video because I just woke up to record the sign-off haha!

Epiphone Snow Falcon Demo || White Dethklok Guitar!!
Amazing review dude, that Phenolic fingerboard looks sick. And yes, you are pronouncing it correctly.
Brendon Small's interview on this guitar: "It also includes a white gigbag, which will get dirty. That's an advantage, it will show that you get out of your room often."
Lol, he's a funny guy, that Brendon Small. And thanks for confirming that pronunciation for me!
I'm the kind of guy who buys a Flying V and plays led zeppelin riffs on it
He did play an original V in You Shook Me, apparently.
Honestly, that's pretty metal
Hah that's nothing, I play AC/DC on an 8 string
@@3badthebad i wonderwall on 8 string Steinberg drop tuning white load of gain
najmi hakim khairi Pitiful, I played Im walking on sun shine in A standard 5 octaves lower through 10 peavy 5150 full stacks. Each amp had its own pedal board which is purely consisted of 40 fuzz pedals.
As usual great video. With as many Epiphones that you demo, they should really be endorsing your channel, haha!
I'm serious though. Of all the gear reviewers on RUclips, you're the only one who actually seems to give real love to Epiphone. Although I love Fluff, I can't recall the last time he reviewed anything from Epi. And Rob Chapman always seems bored and forced when reviewing an Epi.
Anyway thanks for the honest and quality reviews.
Ryan Capen he liked the BHinds sig, said it is the only epi which feels likes a Gibson.
Slimy_the _horrible_Guitarist that's amazing,I can always build a crappier epiphone and it'll feel just like a gibson haha I'm kidding
The fuck - why don't you have a lot (like, A LOT) more subscribers? Love your videos
Lol, I'm not hot enough :(
Ryan Bruce is not hot (or hotter I guess). Ben Eller is more a matter of personal preference.
Dan and Mick are so freaking good at what they do. It transcends youthful beauty.
But you deserve more subscribers than the 9400 you have today.
Your persistence will pay off in the end.
I can’t wait to see you do a review on the new Matt Heafy “Snow Fall” Les Paul Custom!
From Epiphone and the very TALONted Brendon Small, here is the Snow Falcon. Your thoughts?
For my European friends who have been asking, you can get the Snow Falcon here: www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_brendon_small_snow_falcon.htm?ofid-1&affid=203
And for my fellow Americans: bit.ly/2mx3hKU
amazing looking guitar. should sound better with EMGs though ?
+TrollMakers oh for sure. White EMG81X/60X in this thing? Give me that all day.
will u still be doing the jim root sig
plz do
+Kym Watharow Yep, absolutely. It's just hard because they go out of stock as quickly as they come into the warehouse. Don't worry, it's coming, might need a bit of patience though.
Agufish Needs a real case, not a cheapskate easily dirtied, white gig bag...And Seymour Duncan's.
Seriously dig the color... damn.
Have no idea how you don't have a larger following. I really enjoy your demos and you demo guitars/amps that the common person can afford. Thank you!
Got into the RUclips game late :( Glad you're digging the content though!
This ams prettys good guitarrrr
I've had this guitar for about 3 weeks now and I love it. I love Burstbuckers, personally, and the coil splitting coupled with the brightness of the Phenolic board, it's a really nice instrument. I have had similar finish issues that you mentioned as well, but it's all cosmetic, insanely minor, and shipping it back is such a hassle. I'm good!
I have one of these. I played it very briefly, changed the strings and tucked it away in a hard case so it stays mint.
Great demo, stunning guitar and for the first time, I heard you play a lead style lick, maybe the times are ready for some solos in the next demos Hunter? ;)
I think an affordable brand that has a signature guitar always puts more effort into the signature guitars and I stand by this, they really are great.
God damn! Those pickups are lush! I was looking for another V to accompany my Brett Hinds, and I have to say, this is it. Absolutely beautiful. Your playing really captures several angles of tone for me, and sells the hell out of that guitar. Well done again, sir!
I wanna see you review Jeff Waters Annihilation II Flying V Next! :)
this is still by far the best sounding guitar you have demoed. Amazing!
looks like a weapon! great playing/demo/review/video/everything as usual! :)
your mixes became really solid over the last couple vids, very nice job and review
Thanks man! Really glad Pad hit me up to tell me how bad my mixes were. He's done a really, really great job in upping the sound quality for the channel. Next up, a re-do of the Wylde Audio Odin track, the intro music, and the outro music haha.
This guitar is freaking sweet and it sounds good, this is the only Epiphone guitar I would purchase.
I own the Gibson version of this guitar and I absolutely love it! I played the epiphone version at Sam Ash and I wasn't at all impressed. I'm so glad I was able to purchase the Original.
Recited mine two days ago. Wow what can I say. I have played more in two nights then in all of the last two weeks
I'd love to see all those specs on an explorer
I personally dig the Burstbuckers simply because of how much you can do with them. Are they the best for brutal, punishing metal? Probably not. But they can get you in the neighborhood. They can also be used to branch out into different types of music. Great job with the review.
I came back to this video because I have been eyeing this guitar for over a year now. I found a used one for a good price and I'm trying to talk myself out of it. I don't NEED it, right Hunter? But I love Brendon Small's work and I've always wanted a V. HALP. Your review isn't making me want to say no.
Hunter please check out the Dave rude flying v ... love ur vids..
My God you are an effing riff machine!!! I pride myself on my guitar riffage but the layering you put together is wicked. This is now my favorite riff of yours. Greeting from Germany! I used to live near you in Lawrenceville before I made my way over here. Say hi to ATL for me.
I think you need to play more 7 strings. The track you wrote for the Matt Heafy 7 was the best song you have ever done. Maybe you haven't realized your calling in life is a 7 string player. Great video like always!
Check my insta :)
Hi, great reviews love this channel! Just a observation but is there a year discrepancy on the head stock? You'll see it from 5:00 to 5:10.
LOL. I didn't even notice that. Someone at Epiphone messed up.
I have mine reserved at sweetwater.com. I just have to wait for when they are in stock again so they will ship it to me. I just fell in love with the guitar when I saw it and I am very excited to receive it, especially after your review! Thanks!
Congrats dude! You're going to love it! Definitely let me know what you think when they ship it to you.
As for Sweetwater, they're a great site with great service, no doubt about it. Great people, too. But Sam Ash gets my business because they support independent creators like myself make unbiased reviews so consumers can be better informed. I really respect them for that.
Agufish I have never ordered from Sam Ash, that is great they support you though! I am sure other places would never even consider that. I'll have to check them out here soon!
Great review. I’m not sure about the playing comfort but I have always liked the looks of flying V guitars and this one is very cool with the all-white theme.
Phenolic finger boards are awesome... Just a wipe with WD 40 when you change your strings is all you need to keep the shine on the board...
I have a status graphite bass with a phenolic board. I cant say for sure what tonal effect it has as the neck is woven carbon fibre.
O forgot the light weight 9f it, all fret ends nicely smoth. It's the first time using a coil splitter😀 Yeah enjoying that too.
Got mine a few weeks ago. Absolutely fucking love it. Looks great, sounds great (depending on my playing lol), and is just an all around bad ass guitar. I really like how the burst finish is more present with this one than its Gibson counterpart. I wish Gibson would come out with the Snow Horse, the explorer version of the snow falcon, already. I e-mailed them for a whole week asking them if they were going to make it and they pretty much said no.
Also I think the fingerboard is both phenolic and maple. Phenolic from the 1rst to 11th fret and Maple from the 12th to 22nd fret.
How was the quality of it from the factory seen a couple people have messy pickups and the pots werent flat
*DONT SHAVE!!!! YOU LOOK AWESOME WITH THE BEARD!*
Awesome. I like the way you played.
I really enjoy your videos. Really dig this heavey riffing in this one, awesome looking guitar too.
Keep it up Hunter
Quality videos bro! You just got yourself both a subscriber and an Instagram follower. Keep it up!
Quality over quantity very fucking nice sound!
I think it's crazy that Brendon Small didn't have EMG pickups in his signature models!
189harvesterofsorrow he doesn't like emgs
Derp Spoons he liked them well enough to let them sponsor him and his show
Yeah I dunno man. Not my signature guitar, I would have gone with white EMGs for sure!
Agufish agreed. I have always been partial to the 81/60 combo, but I recently played a fairly cheap guitar with the 57/66 set and wow!
189harvesterofsorrow dude the 57/66 setup is filthy, and that applies to the 57-7/66-7 set as well. good call on that buddy
The demo was awesome
Glad you enjoyed it man!
Interesting guitfiddle. Well slayed, Hunter!
A bit simple-looking other than the creatively colored neck, still a beautiful axe.
one of my favorite blues players[Albert King]played a Gibson[60's] flying V so this model is very versatile I was troubled to see the manufacture defects in production seems a bit pricey
if you look around you can pick up a "Hammer" flying V for around1
00$
Please do a review of the ESP Gary Holt!!! \m/
pterantula that's 5000 dollars
Where do YOU shop? ;P I mean the LTD version of course, $999.
I want agufish, fluff, and jared dines create a band!
Even with the minor finishing issues, it would appear to be made a good bit better than the Gibson counterpart that I bought.
i definitely dig the Hinds Sig more. this would of been cooler with gold hardware. but I dig Mastodon and his lace pickups. not to mention the kill pot.
1:10 i feel morbid angel
Really nice. also that white burst is unique and certainly eye catching. Cool piece of kit. Dethklok ftw.
Also nice writing man :) Your pieces have improved by leaps since you started incorporating more lead-ish stuff into your playing. When's the Agufish band coming out?
Also, is phenolic the wood itself? so is it an open fretboard like rosewood or ebony? or is it laquered like maple?
God Damn IT! I NEED this to match my Thunderhorse
Was there some Tremonti inspiration going on with those riffs...?
BADASS GUITAR
color finished fretboard is not my type, but it looks really gorgeous. I thinks It'll be more great if white pickups are changed to covered gold humbucker.
옥동스타일 the board is not painted... It is a phenol based resin... So it is white a the way through.
oh sorry thanks for the correction. I missed the specifications in the intro. GEE
I just thought it was painted like all red guitar of Fernandes.
I also do not live the flying V model, however this one just looks stunning somehow
Have this at work..its pretty cool
Reminds me of Faith No More around the early '90's.
looks pretty cool!
ive been playing guitar for awhile, but i still cant stand not having the dots to help me find a fret lmao
I'm with you on that. I like to have at least a small marker on the face.
Props to Sam Ash in Atlanta helping you out! Love seeing you do reviews, good on em. How about a review of the esp/ltd sn-200w strat clone?
Yeah they've been amazing with the support for video demos. I think it goes without saying that I definitely couldn't do this without them. And perhaps? First time I've heard a request for that one lol
I wonder how long till that white fingerboard starts to show all the grime and gunk that inevitably starts to build up?? Could be a constant issue.
I was gonna pick up a Gibson Explorer but this is defiantly gonna change my mind.
This is by far my favorite demo youve done so far. It sounded amazing, but on a side note. What pick ups would you use instead of the burstbuckers? And do you think the dissonant aggressors from the BK 600 would sound good in this guitar
I'm not into flying v's, but this one is awesome! (I think i have a problem with white guitars, I just find it super cool xD). And great video as always ^^
Beautiful lookin guitar.
amazing sound my friend!!! I'm jealous...
have you checked out any of Randall's tube amps?
You got "fin nah lick" right :). I've played two other guitars that had non-wood fretboards and they were both amazing. Other than aesthetics, I'm still not sure what that argument is based on. If it plays well, it plays well.
I also get a kick out of the kill pot, but apparently, the artists had something to say about it, so maybe THEY think it's a good idea.
I'll wager that white EMGs or the Seymour Duncan Jeff Loomis "Blackouts" (even though they are black) would make a big difference.
There's always been this traditionalist mindset when it comes to guitars. People like good ol' wood fretboards.
Lol and actually apparently not. At least in one interview, Matt Heafy said that they just threw a killpot in one prototype without him asking, but he liked it so he kept it!
Haven't had a chance to try the Loomis stuff yet, but absolutely give me some white EMG81X/60X pickups for this thing!
Cool guitar and great Neckophonics (neckophonics the way to try to explain a guitar neck prophile as both fat, chunky, thin, comfortable all at the same time) check it out on every guitar demo its chunky yet quite thin while filling my hand and narrow enough to let me fly up and down the neck = bullshit its one or the other !!!!! lol just messin around- really nice axe.
That guitar looks great
It's pretty unique, that's for sure! Judging by your prof pic, you're a fan of the Flying V haha
Yes I am hahahaha, check out my videos, almost every were recorded with V guitars
Toki Wartooth would be proud of this demo
Nice vid!
The epiphone jeff waters/annihilator guitar also has a phenolic fretboard. Maybe you can do a video on that one. And the strymon riverside:)
Ive seen far worse finish issues on Gibsons.
Keep up the good work man!
Will do, bud!
Great review, as I've come to expect with your videos. The Snow Falcon caught eye a couple months back, but when I finally tried (another) V in the store, found out it wasn't really for me. Although, the LTD Vulture was pretty sick, but I think that has a higher comfort level being that the upper side of the body has a slight taper (which I know you're familiar with), which makes resting my arm on it a bit more natural feeling, if that makes sense.
That said though, the finish bugs me. I'm sorry, but if you're spending over $600 dollars on a guitar, the finish needs to be payed a little better attention to. Maybe this one just slipped by some QC or something, but still unsat. Don't get me wrong, I can't expect everything to be perfect, but those areas you pointed out seemed kind of obvious, like someone just said, "to hell with it." and sent it on its way. My $150 LTD EC-10 has a cleaner finish lol. That's not on you (obviously), you just review them, and you crushed it as usual.
If you can, you should see if you can get your hands on a Snakebyte and do a review, that would be sick! Honestly, I just want to know if it's neck heavy when playing standing up. I had an Epiphone 1958 Explorer, and while I know it's no comparison to a Snakebyte, or high end Explorer for that matter, but it just wanted to fall when I let the neck go. Cringy and uncomfortable. I'd like to think that Snakebyte has a little more body weight to keep it balanced, but you never know lol. Either way, keep the great videos coming!
Nice looking guitar
I want this guitar so bad but,i need to learn it first
Nice review. Just not my thing w/the V. I love white guitars though. Good job Budz.
i think there was a Gisbon version of this same guitar. was that a limited edition guitar ?
prs se mark holcomb sig
This is a guitar I want
Does the Neck have a heavy Laquor glossy feel or is it lighter? I prefer a light laquor or satin finish.
Christopher Saintmire, after playing a satin neck, it's hard to go back to sticky laquer
I completely agree, I cannot play laquor necks, they feel like cheap plastic garbage to me.
Chris Saintmire even if it does, just a high grit (1000-1500) wet sand on the neck with give you what you're looking for. I do it for all of my git-fiddles
Once they break in, they feel really nice.
Hey, Great demos. i have recently discovered your channel. Since you have played both the brendan small and the brent hinds v's can you tell me how the neck shapes differ? I was under the impression that the snow falcon was going to have a skinny neck, which I hate. Ive heard the Hinds v has a huge neck though. What say you? thanks
I recently discovered your channel. You look like a more serious Stevie T (LOL) Really good content. Subscribing!!! 😎👍
lol, not hard to look more serious than Stevie T. He's a class A goofball haha. Thanks for subbing man!
Great video...guitar sound was killer...how do you run your Mesa for recording...miking it ...what's your signal chain and all that stuff
Hey dude! Glad you're enjoying that new Vulture! So my signal chain is in the description but basically since I live in an apartment I'm using a Torpedo Two Notes Live with a Mesa 4x12 loaded with V30s IR. Takes all the guesswork out of miking it :)
I need this guitar
How would you rate the tone wood of the guitar? I know tone wood's not the be-alll-end-all of sound, and a lesser mahogony cut for an Epiphone should be expected. I have an Epi EX-84 and after I had it for a while, it just started to feel/sound "dried out" and kinda toneless (even compared to other guitars w/EMGs).
holly fuck
Now, thats a guitar
not my style of guitar but love the look
Chugchugchugchugchug I love it!!
How useful is the coil tap? I'm trying to decide between this and the Brent Hinds V and the coil tap gives a point in favor of the Snow Falcon. But I might be satisfied with just the pickup toggle on either with the coil tap being unnecessary. It's basically down to this and the necks that are making it hard to decide.
The usefulness depends on what kind of sounds you're going for. The coil tap is the only way you're going to be getting those jangly cleans, and it's great for leads too. What I always tell people is think about it this way. You can always change the electronics. The neck profile, you're stuck with. My suggestion is if you like Slim-Taper, get this one, and if you like chunkier, go the Hinds. Hope that helps man!
Agufish thanks, that really helped narrow it down! Also thanks for the fast reply, or even replying in the first place.
I'd like to see you jam out and review some acoustic guitars too!
Do the 2017 Les Paul Traditional
Please do a review of the epiphone robb flynn love/death signature flying V!!
It's a baritone guitar if you didn't know that :D
Pretty sure it's discontinued though :(
Between this guitar and the Brent Hinds signature....which one did you like best?
I personally preferred the Brent Hinds. Wasn't a huge fan of the pickups, and that ebony fingerboard was sliiiick.
I was thinking the same thing, I've been thinking about getting one of those guitars, but it's boiling down to the pickups now....and I'm a drummer raised in a family of guitarists. Haha
Thanks for the response!
sound good for paf and it's epiphone too boot but these are like 800 the gibson was like 1300 so really kinda hard too justify
You should review the new Gary holt ltd eclipse!!!
curious, what in your opinion is the best/affordable tube amp for gigging? awesome playing dude.
paul cummins The Randall Diavlo tube amps sound great, and are really affordable. The Peavey 6505 mh mini is great as well.
Other than those, you can always snatch up a used tube amp and go from there. Guitar Center has some great choices, as far as used equipment.
Forgot to mention... if you get the Randall, grab a good overdrive pedal to give the Diavlos distortion a bit more aggressiveness if you're playing metal.
I always like white guitars but this keyboard color is kills me but the tone is good
The snow falcon or Brett hinds?
Wrong Video I know, but I need to know: I've been playing for years and I'm good and all, but I struggle with finding a deep rich clean tone. I mainly play a 2013 Gibson 70s Les Paul tribute, and a prs. They do fine, but I'm looking for a classic R.E.M. sound, and it's like no matter that I do, I'm stuck on a dull/dead Pearl Jam slow sound..any tips?
good sound
Not a flying v guy myself but I'd buy this guitar
