Nice outfit Jess!...these days i still use my medium Alice for ruck marches...i keep it down to 45 lbs and...of course for that i'm using the frame...i show it in my 'rucking alice' video...atb...woods
MTwoodsrunner thanks Woods! I am really pleased with it so far. It is really going to shine with a couple layers on under it in colder weather. It sure is hard to beat an ALICE. Would like to get a bag for my WW2 frame and see. I have a feeling its gonna be close. That frame rides so well.
Nice simple rig! I really like the versatility of the medium alice, it's my "go-to" pack for several applications. Thanks for the video and for sharing. Subbed.
Ive been wanting a gorka for a couple years. Maybe a fathers day request.... Great to hear of your confidence in it. I think that speaks volumes. All the best my friend.
OKBushcraft Thanks brother. You will enjoy the gorka immensely. I would go with the 3 over the 4, as it will give you a wider range of temperatures you can use it in.
yup , thanks for the review , I bought one and yes , it works , I use it with a one tigres fleece , and is like being in side on a rainy day ! .. I havent fully tested it water proofness , but I have 3 plash plankas and they ARE good ,,if a little short hahaha !
Great video. I have two gorkas, a 3 and a 4. Had these now for about three years and three moose seasons. They are stinking tough, very comfortable, and have well thought out features. I can even wear the jackets ( one is a jacket one is an anorak) downtown and I get complements on them. Excellent in the outdoors and around town (LOL). Again love the videos, great channel.
Really cool🙂 my uncle wants to give me a large ALICE pack. I wasn’t sure but I think now I will grab it up🙂 I’ve been looking around at those polish bread bags also. Definitely going to grab one of those.
spider Outdoors nice man! Enjoy! The large Alice is a super pack. Just be careful not pack it up like a uhaul, as those bags will hold everything. The breadbag is a winner for sure too
Hi. Enjoy the channel. I use the med Alice with about the same gear. The main difference is that I don’t use the wool blanket or canvas shelter or hatchet so my weight is about half of what you are carrying! Just a thought!
John Crouch Hey John! Thanks for checking out the channel. I have been swapping things in and out since this. Dropped the hatchet and blanket for most days, using a green field bag from the mms with the canvas poncho as a bivvy quite a bit. Depends what we are getting into or feel like playing with. Been playing with the large ALICE quite a bit for larger trips. Did the buckle mod finally. Wish I would have done that ages ago. cheers, Jess
I've been eyeballing that Gorka and another set of Russian rain wear in ATACS pattern. Good video, once again. Also, have you ever looked at Varusteleka for gear? If not, I think you'll dig them big time.
281 homefree thanks brother! its really great. fits like a jogging suit built for the woods. the fabric is key. real tight weave and very strong. Highly recommended
TurtleWolf Pack lol yeah... I couldn’t pass it up when I learned it was same material as the palatka! I know how well the poncho insulates, this thing is gonna be a beast in the winter with a couple layers under it.
Great setup Jess. That medium Aice can be so versatile. Check out the Hellcat mods for it. It can use it stopped down or maxed out for expeditions. I've heard nothing but good things about the gorkas. How do you find the breathability? Usuable for summer bush running? Nate
Journeyman 71 Nate, its killer. You want the gorka 3, so you can open it up for more temperature control. Fits like a jogging suit with elastic at key locations to pull it in around body. Its pretty much a military ninja suit for the woods! ;)
The Lindsay clan in Scotland has a model on their Clan badge a swan in a crown for a chain around its neck to the crown its motto is The Lindsay clan motto is "Endure fort" which means "Endure boldly". Just tibbit of info
I thought I was done buying gear. I had peaked. I was content. But this morning I wake up and realize that all my gear means nothing unless I have a Gorka.
Tramontane lol I was in the same boat. Honestly, its like a ninja suit for the woods. Fits like a jogging suit, tough like Carharts, stops the wind, yet breathes. Worth every penny
Nice vid! Not sure if it matters, but I think when you be more confident in making statements and not almost asking if you have it right. You got this and your vids are great. Just want you to hit more subs (and I want that 1k giveaway ;) haha. Cheers dude!
I say it all the time, you can’t beat Military gear.
Why is that?
Its reasonably priced and it's tough as nails👍
old military gear, not the new stuff^^
I love my gorka hiking round my woods really good in thicket and brush, thorns practically bounce right off
Always a great show mate. Old school is Cool.!
I picked up a BARS Gorka 4 in January and am quite fond of it. And now I think I'll dig out my old ALICE and see what I can do with it.

Jake Pullen thanks, Jake! The suit is pretty incredible. I would say go for it. I am familiar with Verusteleka. Awesome site for sure.

James Hutto thanks James!
#EnduranceRoom always like the gear #militarysurplus awesome !! Interested in the #Barsgorka3 👍🏻👍🏻
281 homefree thanks brother! its really great. fits like a jogging suit built for the woods. the fabric is key. real tight weave and very strong. Highly recommended
Do the gorka suits compare to Fjallraven?
For the cost of pants, you can get a whole suit. Its awesome woods gear.
Why didn’t you use the external frame?
Mr. Tangent its lighter without it and not necessary on loads under 35lbs or so.
Do you carry a belt knife and Fire steel
Leads4 Accessibility Typically, depending on the area. I also have a swiss army knife as backup/secondary blade that is edc
So youve gone to the dark side young Sith.........yup those Gorka suits are pretty sweet!

Mini scout pencil
Mine took 3 months to arrive from Soviet power.
They ship from a conflict zone.
Marcos Macoeove Yeah, thats a bummer. I have had similar experiences with some of my palatkas.
