    Hi, here in Costa Rica is a tropical country so as I understand those gloves are not the best option for here, right? One other thing can you please tell me the model jacket? Thanks.

      Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾 we have tropical hot & humid weather here too, for me the gloves are OK to use but depends on the rider, some may sweat more easily than others.. It's not too stuffy/feel hot but mesh/cloth material definitely less hot.. However in terms of protection the leather is always better than mesh/fabric. The jacket is supertech air, I have the review of it on the channel too, feel free to check it out!

      @@thesighboredthanks for the quick answer and yes definitely leather is better than mesh. I´ll value brought. I was looking at the video however is not the jacket is just the supertech air. Drive safe. Pura vida.

    What do you think about the shima rs2? Ive been eyeing the sp8 v3 and shima rs2. The sp8 v3 doesnt have a hard palm slider so it kinda bogs me. How does it feel for you?

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  3 месяца назад

      For Shima, I only have the STR-2, not sure if it's the same as the RS2 you mentioned. I don't use the STR-2 that often (being long type glove takes more time to wear for daily), but when I do, I don't have any issues with it. If the RS2 is a different model then unfortunately I cannot commend on that since I didn't try it.

      @@DOI33 These SP8 wasn't mine, I just borrowed them for a while to try them out, so I cannot comment on the stitching durability. All depends on usage and care..

    That’s a nice, objective review of these gloves. For me the fit of the wrist is a little too tight for no reasons, so it’s difficult to go under some jackets and impossible to go on other jackets. I think I will return my pair because it’s actually more practical to wear my trackday gloves on the jacket because of the better shape of the wrist (five rfx2 gloves). It looks like alpinestars made a great pair of gloves for someone riding with no jacket 😅
    I will try the SPX air, it’s a short model but it has a bit of protection on the wrists and tpr slider on palm 👍🏻

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  2 года назад

      Yup, normally the long gloves go over the jacket sleeves unless the jacket has huge sleeves that can go over the gloves instead, that type of jacket probably catches a lot of wind inflating the rider like a balloon. I think the ones available here are Asian cut/sizing it may differ with other regions..

      Thanks for the heads up. I'm having trouble finding gloves that are up to a high speed slide. Most places do not stock race gloves where I am.

      Kalau dah tahan 4 tahun kira bagus dah.. Glove tak boleh tahan selama-lamanya.. Tapi synthetic material memang ada tahap tahan dia sampai masa mula koyak sikit lalu mengelupas.

    Between this Alpinestars SP8 and the Shima STR-2, which one feels more protection and comfortable for spirited riding?

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  2 года назад +1

      Comparing the both of them, I would say they are quite evenly matched. The STR-2 leather feels softer right out of the box, so initial comfort I would say goes to the STR-2. Protection wise they both are pretty good, if you want hard bits then the STR-2 has just a bit more hard bits. Fit wise, I feel the SP8 has a snugger fit for my hand, STR-2 did fit well but a little less snug if comparing directly.

    How are the gloves in warm weather like 80 plus degree?

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  Год назад +1

      Our weather here in Malaysia is hot & humid ranging between 75 - 93 F, I didn't have any issues with it riding in the hot weather. Hands did sweat for sure but not drenched/wet with the gloves on when riding. Air flow was OK.

    Gr8 review, sigh. I normally don't recommend gauntlet gloves, unless on race track. Anyway, ride safe, god bless u.

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  2 года назад +5

      Long gloves give more protection, and protection is always good not just for track. Depend on the rider how much safety they want when riding. God bless and RSSR to you too!

    • @ZediMaster
      @ZediMaster 2 года назад +4

      @@thesighbored I understand the desire for more protection; but sometimes, race track protection may hinder street riding capabilities. Case in point, race track riders do not use turning blinkers, so their gloves does not offer ease of blinker usage. On the street I use my blinkers all the time, and most race gloves give my left hand thumb a very hard and restricted reach to use my blinker switch. And don't even talk about wearing a sports wrist watch; most gauntlet gloves have a hard time covering over a long sleeve jacket on the arm with a wrist watch. Anyway, ride safe, god bless u.
