@@DoctorDevify Hey - just got interviewed by you in the mechanical engineering building of campus. Thought I recognized the name of your channel when you mentioned it, turns out I watched you after getting my offer way back in 2020! Nice to see you still doing videos, looking forward to watching the next one
I was in Beit in 85/86. Back then it was a total dump, with half of London coming in to use the sinks in the communal bathroom as a toilet. Plus drunks from the Union bar making relieving themselves in the corridors at the weekends. I'd hope it's improved a bit since then. I had friends in Linstead and that was a palace by comparison. I also see that hideous monstrosity "Southside" has been demolished. The food in there was truly foul, basically it was unfit for human consumption. Happy days!

Haha thanks! Glad the video was useful! I know Woodward has special music rooms. But in terms of the actual bedrooms, I'm not too sure unfortunately. I remember someone saying Eastside has thin walls and I think southside and Beit are probs similar in comparison but not too sure
I also agree with the international students problem. I hope more of the internationals can be like me/the Brits! No one should make friends based on their racial background...
Help!! Please can somebody tell me where best to look for my son, he has a conditional offer for Imperial starting Sept 2024, when do we apply for accommodation ? And should we or do we choose a Campus option for the first year? We are on a budget. Many thanks for any advice, much appreciated.
I think it's a requirement to have studied English but you need to double check with the admissions team for your course. Email them and they'll confirm it for you ☺️
hey devin! thanks for this immensely informative video. I'm an incoming first year student, planning to begin this autumn. I had a question about the undergraduate halls: I'm looking forward to extensively use a bike to move around London and Parsons and Xenia are part of my shortlist. Unfortunately, there aren't bike storage places at parsons and Xenia so would you know how students residing in these two store their bikes?
Hey, glad the video was helpful! I will try and find out for you but I am not too sure about bike storage in those locations. Perhaps emailing the accommodation department would be best! ps. my name is just Dev :)
Hey, thanks for watching! I remember the payments being termly. if i remember correctly, they send an email and you have to go to a website and pay them from there. i found some other info on how to pay here www.imperial.ac.uk/study/campus-life/accommodation/prospective/ug/fees/
In terms of noise, it's a hit or a miss. You could be placed close to the bar or facing the street. It really depends, as I mentioned in my pros and cons of beit ruclips.net/video/KlGuG-rD9iU/видео.html . In terms of which I'd go for, southside and Eastside are nearly identical. They are more modern but rooms seem a little bit smaller. They also tend to be more expensive. Beit has a bar and club in the premises whereas Eastside and southside have a convince store, bar, gp, dental centre nearby, I don't think there's that much difference between the 3 really as theyre all so close and similar. Hope that helps!
It would mean that originally but because of covid it's essentially what was a shared room is now only for one person. That's why it's probably a bit more expensive as you are getting a larger room for one person. Hope that makes sense
Before covid, yeah premium meant bigger bed/ bigger room etc I think but not sure how it compares now to a twin room single occupancy. It could be a bigger bed maybe? Might be worth dropping the accommodation team an email for more info
hey, yes this is for yr 1 only. there are some halls for second years and above called evelyn gardens. You can also become a 'hall senior' and live in the yr 1 halls. However, most students rent a house and share it with friends
If you put Imperial down as your firm choice they should be emailing you early July at some point. If it's insurance then they'll email next month I think
Devify I’ve put it as my firm. They said early July on the website and I think I’m getting worried I missed it but I guess the email it should come in a few days
Hi , I live in south east London (45 mins ) train journey to imperial college , is it ok to travel everyday to college , will there be late / early lectures?? Or do you recommend staying in the campus for the first year ? Please could you guide me on this ..
Hey, I would personally recommend you stay in campus because it's so much easier to socialize, make friends and go to events and just the independence but probably move back to your house in year 2 as it saves money. I'm terms of lectures it really depends on the course you're studying. Some have lectures upto 6 and if you're doing sports and stuff afterwards it could get late.
Hey, unfortunately no, I believe these are only undergraduate halls. You can check out this website for more info on postgrad halls - www.imperial.ac.uk/study/campus-life/accommodation/halls/pg/ Hope this helps!
This was soo useful, it gave a totally different insight into halls than on the website.
Thanks, I wanted to give a real insight to what it was like
Who’s a fresher this year? 🙌
I wish I was a fresher again - all so exciting!!

Oh wow, that's actually Incredible 😂 was good meeting you man
This was such a good video. I really liked the student reviews because they gave a more truthful view of the accommodation than the website.
Thank you!! I tried my best to give a realistic view of all the halls
Rumour has it that geezer Payam got so big from Igym at Woodward, he no longer fit in the Circle line tubes so had to walk to his lectures
rahh he'd be a hard sight to miss. i heard his arm broke down tfl for 2 days straight
this is EXACTLY what i needed thank you so so much
Thank you!! Really glad that you found it useful!

Can't really describe how useful this is. Fully put me in the right track
These kind of comments make my day, thanks for watching!
@@DoctorDevify the content is genuinely great. Keep it up!
Top video bro, your hard work is showing off in all this high quality content!! 🔥🔥
Appreciate this bro🙌
Lol this is a sick idea, might have to steal this for Nottingham's halls still
Do it for sure! There's barely any videos on halls so it's good to make a video but obvs set me a cheeky shout out😉
Really useful information! thank you!
Do you know how many people share a bathroome if you choose a standart room? (Beit/Xenia?)
I remember it being around 4/5 per bathroom in Beit but I can't fully remember
This video is super helpful!! Thanks a lot! Btw which hall is more sound-proofing since I sleep pretty early and I practice my violin sometimes🤣

Yes I defo agree, we should try to be more open to meeting new people
Ok thank you. I am a prospective international student but I am also planning to do postgraduate studies
Incredibly helpful!! Hoping to come next year 🤩
Good luck on the application bro!
This video is very useful.
May I know which hall would you recommend for female fresher doing Engineering?
I don't think anything specific i would recommend for engineering but in general I would recommend the halls in south ken if they fall in your budget!

What about studying English language before joining at the faculty of aeronautical engineering

Just got my unconditional offer today. This video is super informative!
Amazing, congratulations!!
This is very useful! It gives me a clearer insights for respective halls
Perfect, glad it was helpful!
Really good and informative, thanks alot bro!
Thanks!!

How are the accommodation payments split up? i.e. weekly, monthly or termly
Hey, thanks for watching! I remember the payments being termly. if i remember correctly, they send an email and you have to go to a website and pay them from there. i found some other info on how to pay here www.imperial.ac.uk/study/campus-life/accommodation/prospective/ug/fees/
Hi. For a 1st year medical student, which one would be best? as per you. would beit be too loud?
I am looking at Beit, Eastside and Southside.
In terms of noise, it's a hit or a miss. You could be placed close to the bar or facing the street. It really depends, as I mentioned in my pros and cons of beit ruclips.net/video/KlGuG-rD9iU/видео.html . In terms of which I'd go for, southside and Eastside are nearly identical. hi! thanks for the video. what does twin "single occupancy" mean? does it mean you share a room with a roommate?
It would mean that originally but because of covid it's essentially what was a shared room is now only for one person. That's why it's probably a bit more expensive as you are getting a larger room for one person. Hope that makes sense
@@DoctorDevify thanks! what does "premium" mean then? I thought it meant you would get a bigger room?

Heyy! I have to apply for accommodation soon and this video has been SO HELPFUL!! thank youu!!
I had to crank these out before the accommodation emails hit haha, glad this video was useful!
I love the room tour (that’s the reason I liked this video) :)
Hahah thanks sm, glad you liked it!
So useful! I wish there was a video like this around when I was applying to uni halls!!
Thanks Gaby! Same, I would've found something like this really useful too!
Thanks for creating this. This is just what I needed!!
Glad it was helpful!! Thanks for watching!
Lmao watch all the 2023 Freshers be on this vid now firm offer applications are open
I'm counting on it😂
Is riding your bike a good option ? I dont know if the roads have good cycling lanes
Yeah I think a lot of people cycle. There are a reasonable number of cycling lanes throughout London but could be better for sure
Are these accoms only for y1 students?
If so how would you get accom after that?
hey, yes this is for yr 1 only. there are some halls for second years and above called evelyn gardens. You can also become a 'hall senior' and live in the yr 1 halls. However, most students rent a house and share it with friends
If you love to socialize and talk it’s better not to apply to southside or east side.
why's that 😂
This is sooo helpful! Thank you so much for making this video!
Amazing that you liked and found it useful!!
All I have to say is - thank you good sir 👌
I'm glad that this was useful for you!!
Do Postgraduate students can live in a undergraduate accommodation?
i don't believe so
How do you apply to accommodation?
If you put Imperial down as your firm choice they should be emailing you early July at some point. If it's insurance then they'll email next month I think
Devify I’ve put it as my firm. They said early July on the website and I think I’m getting worried I missed it but I guess the email it should come in a few days
Yeah don't worry it should be there soon!
Hey, I asked another offer holder and they also haven't heard back so I think there's some kind of delay
Devify thanks for letting me know
Could you make a video or just mention , accommodation just for prospective postgraduate students?
hey! this is something i will try to look into!
Very helpful, much appreciated
Thanks for watching!
Great video, thank you !!
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Thank you for making this
Ofc! Thanks for watching!!
I m applying this year😊...hope everything go good
Good luck!!

Do they offer accommodation for international students?
These accommodation halls have international students yes! In fact my roommate was also an international student
love the videos bro
appreciate that bro👊
lol! the walls are very thin part had me laughing!
👀
This was so useful, thank you so much
You're welcome :)
Super helpful thanks man
Glad it was helpful man 👊🏼

Haha thank you!!
Greattt videoooo 😊
Thank you!!
Can postgraduate students live in these halls?
Hey, unfortunately no, I believe these are only undergraduate halls. You can check out this website for more info on postgrad halls - www.imperial.ac.uk/study/campus-life/accommodation/halls/pg/ Hope this helps!
in any of the halls is there such things as a personal kitchen?
If you mean a kitchen per person then no I don't think that's a thing. You usually have a kitchen shared between 5 and 10 people
